I’ve had a few very nice SJ200’s but have moved on from them. I still have a couple large guitars but currently prefer the small bodies. Maybe just a phase or maybe age. If I was going for a j200 Epi, it would probably be the Elvis one, but that’s not happening. As far as the pricing, notice the spike after Covid kicked in. I would not pay over 200 for a standard used one. I think the prices will come back down after we get back to normal whenever that is. I can wait. 1 Quote

fortyearspickn Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 Agree w/Sarge. For ME - the answer is statistically irrelevant: ZERO. Because I don't want one. Would give it to grandkid or sell it if someone gave it to me. I'm sure they are fine guitars, but I'd rather play the ones I've spent years acquiring. Quote
Larsongs Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 I would like to try one of these new Epi J200’s.. If they’re as good as other recent Epi’s it’s probably a great Guitar… I can see MAP at $900+ https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EJ200ANAGH--epiphone-inspired-by-gibson-j-200-acoustic-guitar-aged-natural-antique-gloss Quote

But, cost to ship is probably $200.00 now… I love all of my High end & vintage Guitars.. Anymore, I’m picky about letting anyone play them.. Some of them I won’t Gig with anymore.. I also have some budget Guitars that I love too.. They’re great looking, playing, sounding & xlnt quality built Guitars.. Those I’ll pretty much let others play.. No problems Gigging with them either… $5000-$7000 for a new Gibson J200 is fine & I know they’re awesome Guitars & I’d like one someday… I wouldn’t let anyone play it though.. I wouldn’t Gig with it either… An Epi EJ200 would make an xlnt back up, if it’s a great Guitar.. I’d let others play it & I’d Gig with it.. Quote

Did that six years ago with a solid mahogany topped EL-00 Pro, and ended up spending only $150 in cash. A limited run with a natural finish, it’s a sweetheart of a little guitar that plays far better than it has any right to! Quote
Sgt. Pepper Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 (edited) The only people who play besides me in my family are my son, step son, and bro in law. All of them are welcome to play my stuff. They all own guitars and know I have nice stuff, and know how to treat them. None of them when done playing are going to pretend they are Pete Townsend. There instruments, and were made to be played. Growing up did anyone have special company only towels for the bathroom, there just towels. Edited January 29, 2022 by Sgt. Pepper Quote
