Yeah?

So how much would you pay?

I have no interest in the guitar. I’ve had a few very nice SJ200’s but have moved on from them. I still have a couple large guitars but currently prefer the small bodies. Maybe just a phase or maybe age. If I was going for a j200 Epi, it would probably be the Elvis one, but that’s not happening. As far as the pricing, notice the spike after Covid kicked in. I would not pay over 200 for a standard used one. I think the prices will come back down after we get back to normal whenever that is. I can wait.

I wouldn't buy one. My guitars are made in America. Nothing wrong with guitars made out of the USA, I am just not supporting them or buying them.

Agree w/Sarge.   For ME - the answer is statistically irrelevant:  ZERO.    Because I don't want one. Would give it to grandkid or sell it if someone gave it to me. I'm sure they are fine guitars, but I'd rather play the ones I've spent years acquiring.

That's like twice now. You need mental help now.

I would like to try one of these new Epi J200’s..  If they’re as good as other recent Epi’s it’s probably a great Guitar… I can see MAP at $900+

9 bills and no case, sounds like a bargain to me. What does a case cost China to make, about 35 cents?

Maybe…. But, cost to ship is probably $200.00 now…

I love all of my High end & vintage Guitars.. Anymore, I’m picky about letting anyone play them.. Some of them I won’t Gig with anymore..

I also have some budget Guitars that I love too.. They’re great looking, playing, sounding & xlnt quality built Guitars.. Those I’ll pretty much let others play.. No problems Gigging with them either…

$5000-$7000 for a new Gibson J200 is fine & I know they’re awesome Guitars & I’d like one someday… I wouldn’t let anyone play it though.. I wouldn’t Gig with it either… An Epi EJ200 would make an xlnt back up, if it’s a great Guitar.. I’d let others play it & I’d Gig with it..

I have the Epiphone 'Inspired by Gibson' Hummingbird - bought it with hard case - I think it's a really good sounding guitar and fantastic value for money ... but it's not a Gibson.

Is it like that Spinal Tap scene where Nigel doesn’t even want Marty touch, point or look at his new Strat?

Only guitar nerds care what it says on the headstock. You've gigged enough to know what happens when you play out.

Hey. You've seen enough of that one.

Jack White purposely takes the s-hittiest guitars to gigs.

I have, and I do.  I take them out, super dee-duper expensives and my relatively cheap #1.   I bought them to use them, not leave them home and tell everyone how great they are.  It's a rough world out there for guitars and mine and I are fine with that.  Nothing says I love playing like not taking out the ones you love. ?. ! maybe.

Right on.  My adoring fans tell us that if they are going to sit through four hours of my band, drinking enough to dull their senses so they can hang that long, I had better at least bring some nice guitars to look at.

Except my less expensive Guitars aren’t crappy.

I could care less if anyone wants to let whoever play their high end Guitars & or play Gigs with them…

It doesn’t mean they sound any better than a good Band with good inexpensive Gear that can sing great, knows what they’re doing & have talent..

Anyone who has the mind set that if it’s an expensive or vintage Guitar it’s great & thinks if it’s built somewhere other than the USA & it’s inexpensive it’s a POS doesn’t know much about Guitars..

I’ve heard lots of guys who have really expensive Vintage Guitars that sound like crap…  I’ve seen guys that can play with any Guitar that sound amazing…

Most of those “fans” don’t know squat about Gear or care how pretty it is…. Most of those “fans” can’t carry a tune in a bucket.. Most of those “fans” are there to Party & hopefully get laid.

Knowing what you know about EJ-200s, how much do you believe you would EVER pay for one (sentimentality, famous/previous owners, etc aside)

If I played a EJ-200 example that appealed to me enough to want to buy it, $300 is the maximum I’d pay - and hopefully I’d have a gift card to put towards it, bringing the out of pocket amount closer to the $200 range.

Did that six years ago with a solid mahogany topped EL-00 Pro, and ended up spending only $150 in cash.  A limited run with a natural finish, it’s a sweetheart of a little guitar that plays far better than it has any right to!

The only people who play besides me in my family are my son, step son, and bro in law. All of them are welcome to play my stuff. They all own guitars and know I have nice stuff, and know how to treat them.  None of them when done playing are going to pretend they are Pete Townsend. There instruments, and were made to be played. Growing up did anyone have special company only towels for the bathroom, there just towels.

And if you need to read what I wrote again, go ahead, take a break and read it again, because I said nothing at all even close to anything you are writing in response.

I made a joke about having two sets of guitars, nothing else.  I care what you use even less.
