Which is why many restaurants that specialize in Poutine are located near Hospitals with Cardiac Care Intensive Care Units.

At least a trip to the ER is free in Canada, well taxes pay for it.

Any of you Northerners ride a snowmobile? I raced motorcycles for a while, I love go karts, jet skis, quads, dirt bikes, and street bikes, but NOTHING is as much fun as riding a snowmobile!

sparquelito,

Don't let that fear keep you from coming up.

If summer is to your liking, we'll get you a dog travois, or if you prefer the winter, we'll arrange for a dog sled.

Problem solved.

Just call in advance so we can get the Pemmican-on-Bannock sandwiches  ready. Do you prefer yours with mayo or ketchup?

I once heard a joke about Canadians.  Not sure how accurate it I, but I found it amusing:

Canadians thought they were getting the best of all worlds:

They would obtain their cuisine from the French;

They would obtain the manners from the British, and;

They would obtain their work ethic from the Americans.

As it turned out to their dismay:

They obtained their cuisine from the British;

They obtained their manners from the Americans, and;

They obtained their work ethic from the French.

Not exactly the best of all the alternatives.  😁

Any of our Canadian friends north of the border are free to provide their responses.

Thanks for making the transportation arrangements.

I must say, traveling with dogs is much more appealing than flying with the average American airliner passenger.
Dogs are better behaved, and they never show up unbathed, wearing pajamas, carrying two bed pillows, with their eyes and thumbs glued to the cell phone the whole time.

I had to look up both pemmican and bannock bread.
Mayo, please.
With scallion aioli.

😐

There’s a new thing on planes that is absolutely mind blowing to me. People are taking their shoes off and resting their feet on the [occupied] chair in front of them.

I dunno if you’ve ever paid money to be squeezed between two gross sweaty fat guys for 8 hours but they need to make fat people buy two tickets or give them a special section on the plane. Just like they regulate the size and weight of baggage, they need to ensure that people can actually fit into the seat that they have reserved. If they can’t fit then I dunno what to say it seems like an obvious problem for the people around them.

I’m sure the reason is not that we don’t want to offend the fats, but that we would lose money from the fats

saw The Detroit Symphony do the Slavonic Dances

A nice suite of music.

I also found some jazz in Montreal, but I don't remember where.  It's been too many years.

I was surprised that the majority of people didn't speak English. After all, English-speaking locations surround them. But we practiced courtesy phrases in French (Good day, Please, Thank You, Where is the toilet, nice to meet you, etc.) and a little effort goes a long way in getting people to help you.  That was back before Google Translate.

But I shouldn't have been so surprised. I only know 'baby-talk' Spanish, and from just 50 miles south of me to Cape Horn is full of Hispanics people. I'm older and wiser now.

Enjoy Canada. I visited once. Sailed up the St Lawrence & visited in & around Quebec. This was in autumn 2014 and I loved it. Would love to return sometime soon with Cherry.

Did Neil Diamond write the song for her?

Mate, given the stats (which may well understate the issue) have over 42% of US adults as obese (plus another 30 odd % as overweight) offending them would put you out of business [woot]…maybe an innovative airline could go to having 2 big seats where there are currently 3 each side and monopolise for a while at least - hey, they could probably charge a bit extra for unhealthy food options to make up for the reduced numbers!? :-k [wink]

Ceptorman,

Shouldn't you qualify your remarks by adding "with clothes on"?

Well in America it’s hard to tear yourself from the couch while viewing riveting shows like The View while pile driving a bag of potato chips and washing it down with a 2 liter of Mountain Dew. Then hitting a half gallon of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream until you see the bottom of the container.

I’ll be the first to admit as Americans we suck as people. Don’t believe me? I’ve got a spare bedroom, come visit the area where I live for a week.

Sarge, I reckon you’d be a great tour guide to the reality of it all. Ok, you’re on - if ever I’m there I’ll swing by for a short stay, [thumbup]

Nice of course after I got transferred off my Navy ship, then they went to Australia.

Ceptorman,

Yes, during the non-summer months the weather gets rather brisk, and if you're not careful, you could freeze your kuznetzov.

So if you come up, best bring wear fur-lined gauchies, lest your bag get freezer burn, if you catch my drift.

For canadians. jeez, we dont even have interprovincial coverage guaranteed. that said, eat all the poutine you can cause you'll walk it all off. Make sure you walk Mont Royal, check out the Old Port. Jean Talon market as well as Atwater market are great. the metro is pretty kick ***. you're also gonna want to stop into this place here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Pasticceria+Alati-Caserta/@45.535856,-73.6131768,3072m

You can also walk or bus around the F1 circuit if you are so inclined. they've got a big casino, but thats not my jam so i never bother with it.

uhhh i cant think of much else cause its past my bedtime but montreal is an absolute blast. hope you enjoy it.
