A Perfectly Casted Role?

Recommended Posts

I believe that this question is impossible to answer, because in most cases, one likes a given actor's performance and calls the role perfectly cast because it is the only one that exists for that particular role.

It is possible for example that had Tom Sellick rather than Harrison Ford played Indiana Jones, he would be considered to have been perfectly cast, and this could be said for the hypothetical performances of any of the actors who were considered, but ultimately not cast for a particular part.

Comparisons can be made when a film has been shot more than once, but these are uncommon.

Val Kilmer for Jim Morrison..

Jack Black in School of Rock (apparently Adam Sandler was in consideration for that one).

James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader

Adam Sandler in his comedic roles To Me, are the exact same moronic character just with different film titles.

I would say all the main actors for Married With Children.

Peg was the quintessential bon bon eating housewife. Al was spot on too as the nothing ever goes right for him guy.

I'm a huge Paul Newman fan. He always made me feel like he wasn't acting, he was that character.

Cool Hand Luke

Road To Perdition

Fast Eddie Felson in The Hustler

I think all the actors in the remake of "True Grit" were much better cast than those in the original. John Wayne fans would disagree.
