PRS Private Stock

Like 'em or hate 'em, that's beside the point. Have a look at these guitars. The inlay work is absolutely insane...and speaking of insane - holy crap, $30,000 for a new PRS! And here I thought my Gibsons were overpriced. WOW!!

Two guitars that if I owned either one, I'd be too afraid to play them.

There is a fine line between a work of art, and a tool.

"Where" that line is, is up to the individual.......

To me, a guitar is an "instrument", making it a tool. I earn money with it. I rarely see the front of it.

But I enjoy seeing nice ones like Tims, Neo's, Daves, Junkies, ect.

I just don't have the pockets for em'........

=P~

Prices start around $10,000 and go up in a hurry.

The one thing I love is the colors.

They have one they call Copperhead that is just amazing.

Sort of a brownish Amber.

That's basically like a mosaic. Just a little elaborate! Not my kind of guitar. I just had a PRS and like Murph said it didn't really "speak to me". Those private stocks are sick, but I would rather invest that much money in a real vintage guitar. The colors are ridiculous, though. I like that aquamarine...spectacular!

They do some amazing stuff, they did a custom dragon guitar for several different years the 2002 was my favorite. Totally over the top but in a cool single cut model with amazing inlay of dozen of different stones and woods.

they also made a double neck that was totally amazing but cost more than the average car.

^ that's insane!

I remember seeing some crazy Gibson inlay stuff in the past' date=' but I don't remember where.[/quote']

Les Paul Altima, I believe.

am I the only one who finds those inlays absolutely hideous?

I don't think they're hideous but those guitars cross the line between musical instrument and art.

But I enjoy seeing nice ones like Tims' date=' Neo's' date=' Daves, Junkies, ect.[/quote'']

Thanks but those are in a league all their own.

Two of those are worth more than all mine plus my amps!

I've totally played one of those!

It played like you'd expect. I didn't plug it in because honestly I was afraid to touch it.

I don't like the guitar but I have to say it was a masterpiece. The detail was AMAZING.

They are only overpriced if they don't sell...

Not a PRS fan, but won't ever fuss about anyone getting their price for what the market will bear.
