Do you remember your first post on the Gibson Forums? If so, what was it?

I came here seeking knowledge like many others. I think my first post was a question about my R9. After I realized how helpful and interesting the forum was, I decided to stay. Now I'm about to hit 500 posts... time really flies [biggrin]

Serious, I joined the old, old forums back when I bought my J45. It was like, I don't know, the black and white days.....

Very slow, and heavily moderated. Met some fine people. GillianGirl and Steve (The Hall Groper) stand out. I know there were others. I think ksdaddy was there back then, I could be wrong.

I got my first Gibson (the '61) at age 11 (at a later date, ahem......) and have ALWAYS owned a Gibson, even when I did Country stuff and was forced (....) to own some Fenders.

I am now pretty much all Gibson, Mesa, and Carvin.

Best of luck.

Murph.

I remember it very well. I introduced myself and it's the day that I met Neo, Thundergod and AXE®. I joked around about living in the great Country of Texas and Neo said that "the man is legit because anyone who lived in Texas knows that it's a different country." It was my very first post to ANY forum and these guys made me feel very welcome. I've enjoyed every post since...

My first post was in the forum before this one (a couple of years ago) and it was something like "is it true that SGs break at the headstock easily?"

I was about to get a SG standard in natural burst and kept reading horror stories about broken headstocks all over the net. I don't remember who it was that told me it wasn't so and that he had owned some SGs for years with no problems... I don't know if it was the same guy who told me he had a 12 string SG and if that thing could withstand such tension then a 6 string should present no issues. (guess who is the 12 string SG guy [biggrin])

On this forum? It was:

I was on the old old old forum with Murph, Hall Groper, Ksdaddy, Guitarstrummer, FP(formerly known as Pickitluther), Retro, Shrimer, Anthony007, Kebob, TM, MartinMangler (gosh I hope he's still with us), PowerandWisdom, LeftyGTar, Whitey_Johnson, SpacePup, UKPhil, Fogducker, FarmerRoy, Play2PraiseHim, Hoss, Bobore, Gutterslug, MadDog99, Meymar, Scope, etlreams, DriveSouth, John4surf and a whole host of others. I think I started there in 2004 or 2005. I do remember going there looking for a used guitar 'like Gillian Welch's' LOL. FP helped me scan the eBay ads. I also remember some guy named Ra attacking me because I was upset that some guy on eBay referred to his guitar as the 'class ****'. Murph came to my rescue. Thanks Murph........

My 2nd post was on a misty dec 28 night.

It was around 8:45 PM...the light was shimmering off my screen.

While i was reading a topic on Homz sharing his love for bush...i reply...but..it was not a normal reply.

It started a spark...a war...a murder...A GENOCIDE!

Not really...im just making this up.

Mine was an inquiry about my LG-0 - I didn't know what it was at the time, and referred to it as an "0-shaped" guitar. It wasn't even mine yet.

That was on the previous forum, I believe, because when I came back months later I had to register all over again.
