New Ric 330

Well spent the morning driving a couple hours up to Cleveland to check out a Jetglo Rickenbacker 330. It's a 1999 and this baby is beautiful. It has just a couple of light buckle marks and the tiniest ding on the headstock but she's in great shape for an 11 year old guitar. So now she's the newest member of the family!

Snapped some quick pics for ya all.

Yeah, it do look new.

I played Ricks in the mid 1960s. I remember liking the necks. I don't know if I would now or not.

A unique sound. I think if I had a choice between a new 330 and a new 335 I'd haveta go with the Gibbie just because of versatility. OTOH, I'd happily accept both, and both would get played for different stuff.

I just realized something in over 30 years of playing and gigging I have never played a Ric Guitar. Gotta change that soon.

You sure owe it to yourself Jocko, they are terrific guitars. One of these days a Ric will find its way into my home. I love em.

Congrats Cookie, thats a real nice one.

Way to go Cookie!!!

There are two kinds of people in this world;

Those who "get it" with Rickenbackers, and those who don't.

Very cool guitars, unique vibe indeed.

Here's my Rickenbacker 381 V69 that I shopped for two years for.

CARVED Birdseye Maple, stereo (Ric-O-Sound) output...

Along those same lines, you guys might be able to appreciate this;

1968 Kustom K-200 in Maple. All carved, no plywood here.

Made by the amp people for only a couple years in Chanute Kansas.

Super skinny necks on both, so if you're a '58 Les Paul kinda guy....

I'm gassing for a fireglo 12 too

My dealer has two red 381-12's hanging in the store right now.

Lotsa various 330's and 360's too - coupla 12's among them.

Rare as hell to see anybody stock them, let alone 15 or 20 of them.

Yeah, they are something different for sure.

There's a few others I'd like to get someday - 650 Dakota is out of production now.

I love Kustom amps. Never knew they made guitars. The one you have is gorgeous. How does it sound? Could you post some audio of it?

Never knew they made guitars.

The one you have is gorgeous.

Only made them for a couple years in the late sixties' date=' and not very many of them.

Not all were Maple, there was a variety of woods and decorative trim levels.

Much like a Rickenbacker, but not really well-balanced.

Some quiet spots when moving from string to string, like some notes resonate and some don't.

I rarely play it.

Sorry OD, I have no capability to post audio.

It's a cool piece I bought just because it was in really great shape to be almost as old as I am.

Good stories with it too, it was owned (supposedly since new) by an old Indian who's family brought it in

to sell to my dealer.

It still had the remnants of a dozen baggage tags from now-defunct Frontier Airlines on the case handle.

Seems he traveled and played a lot of gigs way back then, and it is well-preserved despite some playing wear.

Only place it shows at all is on the frets.
