I might be living under a bridge this time next year but I had to order this one. I've been kicking myself in the *** for not ordering a Riv ever since they've been discontinued. I simply couldn't resist it.

Thanks a lot for turning me on to it. I never could find it on the MF website.

Will post pics when I get it. Just ordered it this morning.

I have been haunted by the Riviera ever since I neglected to order one when MF blew them out at $399 a couple of years ago. Of course, those Rivs had minis & no Bigsby. Maybe getting this one will purge the bad feeling I've had since. I've discovered that being broke is easier than being haunted by the feeling that you should've done something when you had the chance. Since this geet is obviously a 'limited edition' I knew I had to pull the trigger now, money or no.

Oh that's lovely. That is really quite beautiful. I just wish I had the cash to buy that right now, but it's not feasible this month...

What goes on with these special editions? I have never seen one of these before, and now they are on clearance. The regular Epi website is useless, it just shows the basic range (you won't see the '66 G-400 there for example.)

I wish I could begin to understand their business practices...they bring out an unusual, beautiful new guitar, then discontinue it and sell it off cheap... Very, very peculiar. Anything different or even a little bit out of the ordinary never seems to stand a chance for long. I guess the stock-in-trade is just everyday LPs, G-400s, Dots and Casinos (even the Casino with a Bigsby didn't hang around for too long...given the price Epi probably pays for those made-under-license Bigsbys, why couldn't they have made it a permanent option?)

I'm with Slim...that thing is too gorgeous for me to pass up and not regret it later. And I've been doing so well at keeping the GAS in check the last few months. I threw in a set of gold Dunlop Straplok's and some strings to go with it (my preference is Gibson Vintage Reissue 11's). Ahhh, yes...a new playmate for my Dot.

Had a look at the MF photos....looks nice, but doesn't seem to have the "arch" that the Casino, Sheri,

and previous Riviera does??? Might be just the lighting... Otherwise, it seems nice. Not sure about "3"

P-90's...(2 would have been enough...IMHO), but it will be interesting to hear from those of you that go

ahead and get one. Very tempting!!! Maybe they'll "run out." and I won't have to be tempted, anymore? LOL!

I bagged one of those Riv's during that blowout, and never looked back! This could be a way of salving the wounds after Gibsons re'issue of the new 330. I saw that in red, damn near blew myself up with GAS. The thought had even crossed my mind to throw dogears on my Dot or the Riv'. After coming back to reality, the thought of modding one of those gits was absurd, being I have a Casino, plus a WildKat already...

Anyway, this P-93 is way cool looking, but the gold hardware is a turn-off to me. Epiphone is not well known for their gold plating durability. My Gretsch Gent is the only axe left in my collection with gold plating, after selling off my old Sherri. Already replating that once, and seeing that the pups not only sounded like crap, but were made the same way, I dumped it.

It still is a pretty guitar though, hope you enjoy!

Or just change the wiring so each pup has its own volume control with a master tone.

BTW, those of you who ordered this, please tell us how it is. The description says hollow body, but the "Riviera" name would imply a semi. Which is it, I wonder?
