I got no problem with spiders.

But I'd have a problem living in Australia.

My Aunt and Uncle live in Queensland, and the stories about snakes in the attic and parrots pooping in the pool have convinced me that I don't want to live there.

so you have a problem with snakes n parrots? [biggrin]

i have a phobia of spiders, wasps and bees...talking of aussie land they have a spider called the "dunnie spider" that hides around the toilet bowl and bites your *** while you sit there [scared] and it can be fatal if not treated asap [crying]

so i too will not be moving to australia anytime soon (even though i think it's a beutiful country) [thumbup]

spiders i dont really have a problem with...now wasps/yellow jackets...i once had an infestation of those that came in through a little hole in a faulty window frame, decided to set up home there. at first i had no idea where they were coming from, id just hear buzzing in the corner of my ear and the hair would stand up on my neck...ive hated those things since i was a kid...

I used to live in Queensland and it was great.

i have, and this video has just got my heart pounding! [scared]

[lol]

That was funny!

No, I have no problem with spiders. We have a lot of tarantulas in south Texas, and a lot of camel spiders in Iraq (which really aren't spiders). I know better than to try and catch any of them, though. They may not be venomous, but I still wouldn't want to feel their bite.

Nope spiders don't bother me at all in fact I like black widows they have cool looking webs and eat allot of other bugs. My wife freaks out about scorpions though and sadly there really common here in Arizona we walk a couple of miles every night and I have a small UV blacklight that really makes scorpions glow and and I usually kill 6-8 scorpions every night.

The only bug that really bothers me is mosquitoes and I probably wouldn't even care about them except they buzz your ears I wish they would just get it over with and bite instead of buzzing around tormenting me.

I have no fear of spiders and I try to avoid killing them, unless they do have poison - and very few do. There are a couple of really dangerous ones in Oz - the trap door and the red back. But you dont see them that much. Another one, called the white tail, can give you a nasty sore.

Snakes are a bit different - we have some of the worst - but they dont go looking for people and you wont see many in the cities.

As an Aussie, I am always amused by the stories of wildlife wreaking havoc and fear on its citizens.

There is no such thing as a dunny spider in Oz. This legend comes from a country music song - "There was a red back on the toilet seat, when I was there last night"

The reb back bite is nasty if provoked, but not lethal. It is a small black spider with an amazing red stripe on its back.

As for parrots - they are one of the most beautiful creatures in the world. i am not aware of parrots per se being a problem with poo. I thought that was the domain of pidgeons.

My grandmother used to leave a broom stick by the bottom of her patio stairs for me when I came home from school to get rid of all the spider webs and such. I do not like spiders, but I'm getting more and more acoustomed to the small ones we have here. Slowly.

Ever heard of the Portia Spider? She hunts other spiders, AND she has multiple different hunting methods for different species. Freaky.

No fear, but plenty of respect for Brown Recluse and Black Widows.....which there's plenty of around here.

Black Widows haunt me!

It never fails they seem to be in every place I have lived in!
