cookieman15061
Back in the early 70s Great Britain was exporting something called Glam Rock like Epi's out of China. Bands like T Rex, Queen, Slade and this band filled the AM airwaves. Enjoy some SWEET. NeoConMan
Good stuff. Sounds a bit cheesy now, heavy on the Glam, but there was some good rockin' there. I've always been amazed how many people don't know who Sweet was, but they hear one of their songs and say "Oh, them?!?"
Riffster
I remember this from when I was little, my older brothers and sisters used to listen to these guys.
Jeff-7
I'd heard a couple of those on the local classic rock station but never knew who they were, thanks Cookie. I'm not very familiar with glam, Bowie when he did Ziggy Stardust is pretty much the extent of my knowledge (that was glam, right?).

cookieman15061
Just right before that,I, considered some of the music " bubble gum " music..... Archies.....ect... They actually started out as "bubblegum" for sure. Mostly because thats the direction their producer and songwriting team were pushing them until they started doing their own stuff. surfpup
A friend of mine's older brother had the 45 of Fox on the Run - we wore that sucker out! He also had Deep Purple's Hush. We'd play those two all day long. And yes, both are on my iPod now.

NeoConMan
Some more "bubbleglam" SP, I'm a big fan of the Babys. Midnight Roundezvous is still a favorite - always wanted to play that one with a band. Head First is another. They were a damned good band, Waite is a great singer. All you Sweet fans - remember the album "Give Us a Wink?" Very cool cover with sliding inner sleeve to reveal images through cut-outs. Still have it. Healer was a cool song on that one. sparky scott 29
Nothing wrong with some of the bubble gum music. I mean, if you grew up with some of it, you don't know any better, Except of course for disco that is, never did or will like that..
Californiaman
I enjoyed it then and my kids enjoy it now. If it gets you rockin' I don't care what the band looks like. It's all good.
IanHenry
Slade were one of the best live bands around, good simple foot stomping rock. Ian.
