I can blame him for being a POS then. If you can't write songs, you shouldn't be doing music IMO

So, songwriters don't need musicians to play the music they wrote? Or are you saying Songwriters should only work with other songwriters, 'cause you know what the phrase "too many cooks in the kitchen" means, right?

I know you can like or dislike anyone you want, but how can you dismiss the likes of Linda Ronstadt?

And, what about the songwriter that can't really sing that well and just doesn't have the charisma to get their music to the big audiences? Are they supposed to give their songs to the songwriters that do have stage charisma.

Are you saying the only people who deserve to be on stage are those that can Write and Entertain? That's a very narrow definition of "Musician".

Somethin' Else - Cannonball Adderley

with a hell of a supporting cast:

Miles Davis, trumpet

Hank Jones, piano

Sam Jones, bass

Art Blakey, drums

That album is one of my all-time favorites. Good choice--a great complement to a good cigar and a fifth of strong bourbon. [thumbup]

Right now I'm chilling out to some "dad-rock"--it's not all bad:

XD, I am a huge fan of that album. One of my faves as well.

You have excellent and refined taste young man. Love the bass in those pieces.

Makes me want to play standup bass.

FYI, did not mean to post it twice. I just noticed.

XD, eclectic and refined can be in the same room.

I even listen to country swing music now and then. (not a huge fan of Nashville style country and western)

Rock (hard, country, classic, alternative).

Jazz (mostly cool).

Tony Bennett (very cool).

Classical (quartets and trios).

Baroque. (contrapuntal bliss)

Blues (old and new; acoustic and electric; masters and journeymen).

What ever moves the body and soul.
