BigKahune
. Beyoncé sang Etta's signature song "At Last" at Obama's inauguration - I loved it when Etta let it be known she was not happy about being passed over for that performance. JohnMac
What a shock. I was just playing one of her CDs about two hours ago to demo an amp and some speakers for a friend. R.I.P.

heymisterk
When I first heard At Last, I could not get enough of it. I listened to it over and over again. I heard nothing else: not a guitar, not...nothing...except that voice over those strings and that melody.

I heard nothing else: not a guitar, not...nothing...except that voice over those strings and that melody. When my wife and I renewed our marriage vows on our 25th anniversary, (8 years ago!), we played "At Last" immediatly after we completed the ceremony! Always one of my favorite songs sung by one of my favorite artists.... to me she was a legend....

zigzag
When I told my dad that Billie Holiday was the best female blues singer that ever lived, he surprised me when he said it was Etta James. I thought his favorite music was Percy Faith.
