SG FAN
2 new SGs for 2011, a 50th Anniversary 24 fret SG and a 60s tribute special (p90s and small pickguard) I've got major GAS for the 60s tribute BTW Here's some pics. (Edit) They are reintroducing the Goth SG, and doing a USA Robbie Krieger sig SG. The 50th Anniversary tribute 24 is at the far right. Wicked nice bevels from what I can see. Different varieties of the 60s tribute Special.
dem00n
Holy ****...im so getting a white 60 ressiue!
sneakerpimp
thanks for posting these! the 60s Specials look sweet and have nice colors but i'm over the P90 sound and they look to have the faded treatment (?). if so they should be cheap enough to sell a lot of them. yes, the 50th appears to have the deep bevels á la VOS. i'd love to have one but i'm guessing it's priced well above $1k, a few hundy above my personal limit. it's a real beauty though. Dub-T-123
The white one with p90s looks sweet... It looks like a satin finish though I prefer the look and feel of gloss.
SG FAN
Yeah, they are "faded" finishes, like the 50s tribute LP Studios.

Tman5293
Honestly, I'm really disappointed. I was hoping for an exact spec for spec copy of the 1961 SG with the sideways vibrato and everything. Now I can see that I waited for the 50th anniversary reissues for no reason.
Larsson
mmm those 60's sg's look sweet, a sg faded with p90s? shouldent be priced to badly hopefully, cant wait to test one out in a local store :)
69 Son
^^ I can see the disappointment but a sideways vibrato would be a disaster sales-wise. You could always put one on yourself.
Tim Plains
I hope Gibson is doing more than this. Surely, they must be releasing a 50th anniversary SG Custom? I figured they'd release several limited edition 50ths just like they did with the 2009 R9s & 2010 R0s. I, myself, was looking forward to a two pickup SG Custom. Guess I'll just have to search for a used Elliot Easton.

jojo68
I'm glad this is going to be under 1k. Maybe not accurate tribute, but I love it.
sparky scott 29
Sweet guitar.. I would love to have one, but, I'm sure the price will be accordingly..
GibSinCity
I'd bet that a non Custom-Shop, USA run of these would satisfy a lot of people.

btoth76
Absolutely great guitars! Hope Gibson will send one over to Hungary in faded cherry! Count on me!
DiamondJig
I think the current CLASSIC is more of a SG special than these are. They should be like Pete's SG specials with the full pickguards and combo tail piece bridge. What neck profile do they have "60's" hopefully. sparky scott 29
I am assuming that no one knows the price, or, when they are coming out??
kevoT
Why don't the 60's specials have binding on them? that's what made them beautiful!

I'm sure there will be more:) Yeah, that's what I figured...and hope for...but winter NAMM is when they introduced the 50th anniversary R9s and that was a big deal. If they were going to announce a 50th anniversary SG, they should have at NAMM this year.
