  1. I’ve got a Southern Jumbo and have always understood that it’s pretty much a J45, but just a bit more fancy looking. Then there’s the Sheryl Crow SJ……. At one point I considered one of those. Lets face it, having one of those is about as close as I’ll ever get to touching something that looks like something that touched Sheryl Crow’s lap. Anyway, I don’t need to be touching or sniffing something like that late at night ( there’s already more than enough Emmylou pictures floating around this forum)……. As it turned-out, I bought Rosewood SJ.
  2. l sold my song catalog to Sony and I only had to pay them $75.
  3. If an amp has a problem that plugging it in won’t solve, I’m out-of-luck.
  4. When I was a truck driver I’d often drop-off trailers for furniture stores. I’d go into the warehouse and bullshit with the folks. I got to see the “aged and distressed” furniture. They actually put dents in new furniture with hammers and scratch it with a wire brush. The only thing “aged and distressed” about the furniture was the way it was painted.
  5. I suspect the guitar’s quality is top notch, but it looks like one of the designs you’d find on a $200 guitar. The top looks like the dog ate something that didn’t agree with it.
  6. Why did Michael Jackson date 35-years-olds? Because there were thirty of them.
  7. Very sweet looking instrument. Play it in good health for many years.
  8. I fell in love with her “at first sight.” What a babe, and a mesmerizing voice…………Emmylou (along with Judy Collins) has aged gracefully and with tons of class.
  9. Nice job on this classic. I always liked Bobby Darin. Very talented guy. You and that big guitar sound real good.
  10. I rode a Harley once. Don’t remember her first name.
  11. Dave, your songs are very believable! On some of them you might not have been there, but you sing from a perspective that is real and knowledgeable. Nice work. You’re a superb storyteller of stories about real people.
  12. Great nostalgic song and you do it with real sincerity. I like it a lot. Sweet guitar too.
  13. I used to say “I’m not as good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was.” Now, I can’t even say that.
  14. Love it, Anne! Good piece of writing. Another “slice of life” song. The guitar + your voice = “easy listening.”
  15. Really nice job, Roger! Good pickin’ and sweet vocals are perfect for this song. I enjoyed it………And Guy Clark was one of the best to ever write a song.
  16. Sweet-looking guitar. Ain’t it cool when you can really bond with a guitar?………Play on and on.
  17. No matter how low my action is, I’ll never be able to play like that.
  18. Not my color, but it is a beautiful instrument. J200s are monster music makers. BTW, when did Gibson start calling it SJ again and not J. I thought SJ was a Southern Jumbo now……Anyway, sweet guitar.
  19. My passwords are all protected by amnesia.
  20. You deserve fifty lashes for posting this. This is cruel and unusual punishment.
  21. I don’t care, so long as they don’t shut down the joke thread.
  22. Murph, these days, even if I’ve memorized it, it might be gone….lol
