  1. It's only White because we burned it for you πŸ˜„
  2. ****heroe, Lancashire here in the UK. ****heroe was originally a Viking settlement (a lot of the inhabitants still have blond hair and a hand defect as they get older, my Doctor told me that it was a Viking thing, I thought she was having me on, but it seems there is some truth in it) where they built a wooden fort which was replaced in the 12th century by the Norman Barron Robert De Lacy by the current building.
  3. Maybe HP Sauce should now have a Windmill on the labelπŸ™‚
  4. One pickle that you should try is Piccalilli, maybe you already have it in the US because Heinz produces a very good one. I like to slit Sausages down their length, put some Piccalille inside and make them into a Sausage butty. Heinz | Piccalilli Pickle
  5. 96 is a pretty good innings, RIP Tony
  6. In my opinion, Yorkshire Relish sauce is better than HP Sauce but ironically it's now made in Ireland and for a long time wasn't even available in Yorkshire for some peculiar reason, though I think you can now get it mail order. Merciful Evens, I don't believe Daddies is popular in the North of England, I've never had it and I've lived there most of my life. It's HP that's popular up here (in the absence of Yorkshire Relish!
  7. Yes, I wasn't sure if "guaranteed for life" was referring to my life or the cables πŸ™‚
  8. I have an Xvive U2 which I use all the time at home but I can't imagine using it at a gig, that seems a bit risky to me. I ended up going for a Monster cable, so thanks everyone for your suggestions.
  9. At a gig last night I had a guitar cable fail on me, I've been using Fender ones which are "guaranteed for life" (does anyone ever actually return them when they fail?) but this is the second one that's failed recently. Can anyone suggest a good guitar mid-priced guitar cable that can be relied upon? I don't want to go silly price wise because of course they often "disappear".
  10. For information on all things ES it's well worth taking a look at this chap's site, he really knows his stuff: The Gibson ES-335
  11. Quite exciting to hear this, I may be using this function but I'd be curious to know what the waiting time is.
  12. Yes, my thoughts as well, but I thought it seemed a little harsh!
  13. I've always quite liked the options available on the latest Classic but I've never had the opportunity to play one. Last Friday I was in a guitar shop and picked up a couple of Classic's , I was absolutely shocked at the weight of them considering they are supposed to be weight relived. I have two solid Les Paul's and both are lighter than those and they dwarfed the weight of my Les Paul Classic Antique at 7lb 5oz
  14. And all you wanted to do was listen to some music πŸ˜€
  15. Sad to hear that, race cars are a dangerous game, even today. RIP
  16. I didn't see that many punk bands just the Clash, Jam, The Tom Robinson Band, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Sham 69 and Generation X. I also saw a few bands that were borderline Punk/New Wave like the Stranglers, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Blondie (on their first tour of the UK before they were famous) which was an "interesting" gig and also The Boomtime Rats on their first gig in England at a small club which was also interesting. My mates and I weren't old enough to be in the club but things turned interesting when Bob Geldof started throwing punches at members of the audience (the "stage" and the dance floor were on the same level), but there were some pretty rough lads in that club so it really didn't end well! Saint Bob isn't actually a very nice chap. PS, the Blondie gig was an even more interesting one, but I'm not sure I could tell it on here.
  17. Sadly Groundhogs guitarist Tony McPhee passed away on 6/6/23. Tony was a renowned player during the 70's but since then I feel he largely slipped "under the radar" and was forgotten about since then. RIP Tony
  18. I've started using Ernie Ball Hybrid strings which are 009-011-016-026-036-046 which I find work well for lead.
  19. That all makes good sense because obviously, the program isn't smart enough to differentiate between fact and fiction at this point.
  20. If it's "it is the best sounding phonograph I have ever owned" that's great, you couldn't ask for anything more πŸ‘
  21. Ok, thanks for your replies. I'm not a big fan of uncovered pickups so I think I'll probably wait for a GreenyπŸ™‚
  22. I've been checking out Youtube reviews of the 50's Standard, particularly the faded ones, and one reviewer claimed that they come with 50's wiring, does anyone know if that's correct? It's really the Greeny model that I fancy most but they are like hen's teeth in the U.K. at the moment.
  23. So what has any of this got to do with Washing Machines πŸ˜€
  24. I think the un-bevelled edge is how the Custom shop reissues are, at least that's the case on my R8, so I'm guessing it's "period correct". I know what you mean, it feels a little unfinished to me but I guess it is what it is.
  25. As I understand it, Peter's drug problems started after his drink was "spiked" at a party in Germany which exasperated Peters's already fragile mental health. The list of wasted talent from that period is mind boggling, people like Paul Kossoff, are such a sad waste.
