  1. You should check out all the episodes of Only Fools and Horses, there were quite a few series, also worth looking at are Men Behaving Badly (but not the early ones with Harry Enfield). Ironically Harry Enfield & Chums is rather funny.
  2. Great performance by all, and the young Lady gives an impressive rendition of this classic:
  3. I had the privilege of seeing Aynsley Lister at a small club (60 people max) last night and wow, when you see a bloke like him play close up there playing is just unbelievable. It was a three-piece band and almost every note ran out clearly, he did muff up a couple of notes in one fast solo but the guy has so much spare capacity he was able to angle his Strat up and jokingly look at it as though it was at fault.
  4. If you like motorsport you should see the Isle of Man TT races. The blokes who compete in that must be deranged, every year it's carnage, six riders died last year.
  5. So your first thread on this subject got closed down, so you thought you'd give it another spin πŸ˜€

    Great amp, enjoy πŸ‘
  7. Sadly another great pass's on. RIP Tina
  8. AI scares me a bit, to me it can undermine human achievement, everyone's computer has the potential to be the next genius composer or to produce the next art masterpiece. It can already be used to write a first-class dissertation. Yes, it can be fun and be used for the good of mankind but once the genie is out of the bottle there can be no going back
  9. It's funny how U.S. attitudes to vehicle mileage are so different from here in the U.K. and most of Europe, most people would never consider buying a car with approaching 100K miles on the clock, they are considered as the next stop, scrap yard. A few people will run them as bargain basement transport.
  10. You need to bear in mind that all Memphis 335's came with "Custom" on the case but they were not "Custom Shop", so you need to be careful that someone is not misselling a guitar.
  11. The cones have started to perish and split on one pair of Acoustic Research speakers I have (I have them in different rooms), I stuck a few pieces of insulating tape over the splits and you really can't hear any difference. That's real HiFi πŸ˜†
  12. One thing that surprised me was the fact it was made in England, I thought everything was now made in China ☹️
  13. Despite having several hundreds of vinyl records I'd given up playing them because my record deck didn't work (it may have done occasionally if you persevered with it), but yesterday I got a new Rega Planar One. I've just finished listening to Yes's Close to the Edge and I was stunned by the depth and clarity compared to digital music reproduction, there are guitar lick's in there that I haven't heard in years, and the amount of work that went into making some of those classic albums is amazing but nowadays with digital, no one hears it.
  14. Good to hear that he was so approachable and not one of those "stars" who are so up themselves.
  15. Since I reversed mine I'm really chuffed with it πŸ™‚
  16. The hunt is on for the mystery DIY pothole filler: Mystery motorist hunted after filling huge pothole with concrete | The Independent
  17. I've never changed pickups on a guitar, but a lot of people obviously do, but the way I see it you are spending hundreds of $'s and you have absolutely no idea what it's going to sound like when you've finished. That's a leap of faith and quite a big gamble.
  18. Come over to England to see if you can get a better deal, there are a lot of competitive dealers here or see if you can come to some arrangement with Andertons regarding your trade-in, I've never bought a guitar online but I would imagine they will have some arrangement available, that's their business. The first step is to ring or e-mail them. Good luck πŸ™‚
  19. Don't forget the dealer has to cover his overheads, make a profit and probably have to pay VAT on it.
  20. Very sorry to hear of your loss, at least you were lucky enough to enjoy his company for many years and you will always have your memories.
  21. Yes, Gary was one of the great, and almost without a doubt the most aggressive player I've ever seen, add BB, and you've got a pairing made in Heaven.
  22. One thing that's never spoken of is that it was the British Empire that ended slavery (although, by all accounts, it still goes on in some places). The Royal Navy paid a heavy price in terms of seamen during the East Africa Squadron, with so many dying from disease.
  23. (Well. Except for Prince Andrew. I have close friends who attended a dinner where he was the 'honorable host' to a world championship of helicopter flying, back in the 1980's. My friends reported that he was an arrogant, pompous, abusive A$$hole, and everyone there hated him. Especially the kitchen staff.) If you want to see how arrogant Andrew is, you just need to watch his TV interview, he clearly believes everyone else is thick, and quotes conditions that any medical person could question the validity of showing how much he's prepared for the interview (and did I mention I was a war hero?).
