You look deep into that Maple. It looks like skulls , I agree with you. Killer maple nicely bookmatched as well.

yes they were. The modern centurys are acrylic lucite . And yup. They do not feel right at all. Old or new.

They probably know its wrong. But the cost of retooling for 1 fret less is more than its worth. most of the guitars even from the late 80s early 90s were not accurate. I think all that tooling is used still today. Good Eye .

Well. I think Parkerfly guitars were along the same line with stainless frets. Goya Sparkletops and Gibson Century Guitars, Gibson Pointsettia ukes had a lucite plastic fingerboard. They sure werent effected or lost any tone. As for todays Richlite Gibsons Ive played a few. They were good. Not sure of the fret change process. I believe at some point it will be the normal on all guitars. I prefer ebony for the amount of money payed for a guitar. But that being said. If it is Nice and sounds really Nice. I wouldnt be shy in buying one.

The Gibson J200 Regal they build now has the 3 piece back. As well as the Monarch J250. They do look nice too.

A Common practice then to have a three piece back. Doves were like that too. Even with the Artist bridge. Norlin had a way to use up wood that would of been tossed . Ive had both the Doves and 200s with those features. as for value. Not much difference from your Normal models.

The larger pickguards that Gibson has.. have been more a issue with curling up on the edges.. I have a few hand engraved ones from Ren from the early 90s.. that have never been applied but have done the same thing.. they have lost there shape.. a good luthier might be able to heat the guard up and flatten it back down redouble tape and put back on the Guitar.. stewmac has the proper double sided 3m adhesive.

I owned a 40s Banner that was so worn out. You could see the trussrod from the back of the neck. It was beat. Someone actually paint it black with a brush. So seeing this L50 in this state. Shows they were bought to be played hard.

If I buy a Gibson in the U.S.A from a Gibson Dealer.. its a lifetime warranty as long as Im the sole owner.. which is good... but If I buy one from a Gibson dealer up here in Canada.. its a 1 year deal,, and Gibson U.S.A wash there hands of it.. I prefer shopping south of the Border.. there is a wider selection of Guitars offered. up here it seems they order in bulk.. just the main run stuff... anything special is a wait till its built thing.. and the price is never guaranteed from the time of order. it can take from 6 months to over a year.. there are alot of Gibsons that never made it up here.. and the ones that did were mostly dogs..

Not sure where you are located. But up here the U.S MSRP is usually are CDN selling price up here. And our warranty is only a year. Not like the U.S where if bought new and owned by the original owner its a life time

They also were bannered in 1990 ,91,92 so on. They were either just j45 s and j45 western. J100s were bannered as well as the SJ. In that time frame

Start of with a affordable J45. As everyone here has said. Its a good start and could lead you in the future to upgrade if you want.

Nice looking J200. That 2 was place as a second. Some sort of cosmetic flaw. Those were discounted to the dealers.
