  1. Damn 40. Making me misty eyed here. Black Diamond was the first strings I learned to change way back in the "day". 🥴 The all plastic EMENEE guitar I had before used nylon strings that weren't worth the bother to change. AND it had the same twine strap my first wood steel stringed guitar had. Whitefang
  2. Wendy Carlos? Wouldn't hurt to know Wendy. Some even knew her when she was still Walter. Whitefang
  3. No issue here with the red either. Or the adjustable bridge. Looks good. Have lots of fun with it. Anyone complains about the bridge tell them it's OK with you if they pull out their wallet and buy you what THEY think you should have. Whitefang
  4. I'm not sure how much I like that song or not, but too, I got tired real quick of kids starting bands only to pound out nothing but poorly played "power" chords and "singing" like Cookie Monster. Those boys have a good, full sound. See? Playing full chords does make a difference. Whitefang
  5. Certainly, not THIS kind of "base", eh? Don Wilson – rhythm and lead guitar Nokie Edwards – lead guitar (as "base guitar") Bob Bogle – bass, lead guitar Mel Taylor – drums From "The Ventures Play Telstar And The Lonely Bull(1963)" Whitefang
  6. "Chain Of Fools"--Aretha Franklin Whitefang
  7. At least you typed AN MBA instead of A MBA like too many around here might( or should I put "to" many? ). Whitefang
  8. Bach composed for harpsichord, piano, organ and orchestra. You'd have to ask Wendy about the tunings. Whitefang
  9. Not my cup, but good to know somebody's doing something else these days with electronic music besides disco like bounce at raves. But electronically, I'm a bit more attuned to------ Whitefang
  10. "Sixteen Tons"--"Tennessee" Ernie Ford. Whitefang
  11. Hee-hee....... I remember my first strap, on my cheap no-name $15 wonder was a length of twine! Whitefang
  12. One thing I learned through photography that can be applied to almost anything....... For every product developed and marketed for a "special" purpose there are plenty of lower priced or free items that can accomplish the same results that won't make somebody needlessly wealthy. Or an alternative that will work as well for far less money. And that's true with many other things people waste money on. To whit: A guy I worked with kept going on about the frames of his eyeglasses. Called them his "sweet" frames. Actually, they looked pretty much ordinary in design. But he claimed what made them "sweet" were the silver and gold bindings on the arms and around the lenses. Bindings you'd never really notice unless he pointed them out to you. And it's a sure bet they did nothing to improve his eyesight more than if he had plain, simple frames. And they sure did nothing to make HIM look any better. Yet he felt it all was worth the $600.00 he claimed he paid for them. And that price did NOT include the lenses. 🙄 UPDATE: I finally did find Almond oil at the same health store I went to for the grape seed oil I use on the skin of my lower legs stretched due to the swelling caused by lymphedema. It also is sold as a skin emollient. Made me wonder if the grape seed oil might also be a good fret board treatment. As it's a long way off before I change strings I put off buying the almond oil for now. Whitefang
  13. Brian didn't discover them. He was just their manager. And it was Albert Epstein who discovered the theory of relativity. And during a family reunion. Whitefang
  14. Here's an oldie from Buddy Hackett: "A little kid looks up at his father and asks, "Daddy....What's a degenerate?" And the father looks down and says, "Shut up kid. And keep sucking!" Whitefang
  15. "Little Sister"--Elvis Presley Whitefang
  16. Nice try, but that dog won't hunt. Properly should have used "word" instead of "words". The fact still remains, your use of the word "wokies" in relation to the root word "woke" belies the true meaning of the often misused and misinterpreted word. Whitefang
  17. In all seriousness, I do like Spam the food product. But my cardiologist insists I lay off it. Now, I understand they do make "Spam Lite". but in checking the sodium is still a bit too high for me. Whitefang
  18. I always thought that "disastrous duo" should have called themselves "Voracious D". Then we could refer to them by the initials. Whitefang
  19. Well, that was a nicely irrelevant deflection. And BTW: That's "Some words ARE". Einstein. And you DO need a dictionary to tell you what the definition of some words are when it's clear you don't really know. Helps keep you from appearing dumb or foolish. Whitefang
  20. Thanks for the information anyway, but I rarely go running to online when I can't find something in any stores around here. Unless it's something REALLY important I need(or want). Like they say.... "The search makes the finding more triumphant". Or some such crap. Like that Christmas song I mentioned somewhere.... Whitefang
  21. In another forum some years back when this topic came up some suggested Almond oil. I'd give it a try but have yet to find it anywhere. Any ideas? Whitefang
  22. Here's an odd one. For about 30 years there was only one place most people knew of where a right turn on a red light was legal. It was at the intersection of Jefferson Ave. and Southfield Rd. in Ecorse, Michigan. That is, until the law was passed in the state to make right turns on a red light legal just bout everywhere. THAT'S when a sign went up at the aforementioned intersection informing people, "No right turn on red light allowed". Whitefang
