  1. If you like, I could weight relieve it for you?
  2. Yeah! I'd go for one of those too 😉 Well, no I wouldn't spoil the exclusivity of your build. I would ask for a v light stain natural finish L5. Normal grained; no flame/no quilt etc. The version with floating mini HB at the neck. A maple neck with a scarf jointed headstock with volute. Ebony board with side dots only (no inlays). Old curvy Gibson logo on the headstock. Tan case with integral shroud and personalised gold name plate next to the handle. Perfection.
  3. The respect for Les is unquestioned. But you seem to be conflating at least 3 events and ending up with false conclusions.
  4. Great. Glad you got there at last. You should be very happy with that choice.
  5. Really? Who said that? And even if they did, why try to steer it into something competitive?
  6. NGD and a broadened horizon. Wonderful gift. 🙂
  7. 🙂 The demo guitars with G-Force in shops became abused in 2015. The alternate tunings were tried and the guitars often left that way. I was always asking assistants to 'sort this out' so I could playthe guitars. I was wary of G-Force in and dubious for that reason. But I got my 2015 guitar new (and un-abused) and I determined to try to use the thing properly. Personally, I never moved away from concert tuning and I always used 'the one string at a time' method to tune. My G-Force only lost its bearings once (after 3 .5 years). Had I only used the guitar at home, I would have kept using it. But I was gigging it and needed 100% confidence, so put Grovers on this year. I was a bit sad about it. Perhaps another generation on would have been enough to address my misgivings. There was nothing wrong with the idea. As Rob Chapman said. We all use digital tuners. The only difference is these ones have a motor on them. 40 years ago, we didnt even have digital tuners. In those days I used to 'imagine an E' and tune to it. I got good at that. A far cry from perfect pitch but useful. I cant do that anymore. I depend on that Snark these days.
  8. This got a lot of discussion on 'another' forum. With Echopark earning plenty of demerits from unhappy customers. So perhaps Echopark will work in a similar way as Orville in Japan?
  9. Sorry, no. Never seen one of those before.
  10. Yes I saw this last night. You could have knocked me down with a feathered arpeggio (If I hadn't already been prone on the settee).
  11. Hendrix has become sainted it seems. There were plenty of other players out there in his day that knew more. I suppose his big sound was a also a part of it. I liked him, and had copies of Ladyland & BOG, but yes there were always other players that got more of my attention. A lot of the time I am unaware of even the better known players of today. I dont have a list either, but if I were to make one, Steve Kimmock and Jimmy Herring would figure in it somewhere.
  12. The ali cases are that heavy?! Pity, they look great. BTW If your old case has a flanged neck support (like an old Fender case) you might be able to slide some pipe lagging over it. If everything else still fits, it will elevate and support the neck. Just choose whatever size lifts it clear. You have a G-Force at least one generation later than mine. They are supposed to be substantially improved. I liked mine and used it happily for 3 years. Check out the videos that show how to re-string. Its fast!
  13. When I read this, what I saw was: and thought to myself 'he is taking the p1ss?' 😄 Old age & faulty eyesight. I suppose I should laugh while I still can!
  14. Not sure what that means, but it sounds positive and encouraging. 👍
  15. Lovely! I think the arrangement would have taken most of the time & effort. Less so the practice.
  16. It does appear that way. 'Unsafe components' sounds deliberately vague & could mean anything. Even a loose knob is a choking hazard.
  17. Out of date electrics? ok, fair enough. Without value? maybe. The carcasses are still good though. So stamp em up 'reject', remove the logo if you want. I'm sure they could have been re-purposed by somebody all the same. One local radio bulletin, and I feel sure they would have shifted in an afternoon.
  18. Do they keep the tank handy just for this eventuality?
  19. Others will disagree, but I dont think there is a sound difference between single & double cut. Personally I need a neck pickup.
  20. Mine arrived yesterday. Pleased with them. A bit darker than expected but good looking and good quality. I would have had them last week but had to pay Royal Mail their ransom money first. No, it shouldn't incur a customs charge (though the card they delivered said it did) but they added some tax and the usual £8 'handling' charge. Total £19.08 extra. If you don't pay, they send it back to America. Now i need some more strap retainers. I'm trying Grover ones this time. Will this incur more charges? It just seems random sometimes.
  21. Attractive, though it seems he's not offering the original pickups. Toneriders have good rep, but I've never heard them.
  22. They could probably squeeze in more pickups if they used spring tensioned rotary system. Like an ammunition magazine. Put a motor on it and it would be like a Leslie speaker.
  23. Unless I missed some, this is the 3rd wave. However irksome this is for us, its better than what it must be like for the spammers. Nobody with a full productive life acts this way. They are likely frustrated, embittered and without direction. They still need some consequences though.
