Rabs
Not sure if this is a one off custom order or this will be a new thing.. But yes its an American made one.

Larsongs
That’s a great Guitar! Why would anyone do that & pay extra? I equate those kinds of Guitars with Rat Rods… Not for me.. I have a recent new USA Epiphone Casino.. I will do everything I can to keep mine from ever looking like that…

Murph
I like it. I had an ES-339 (Gibson Custom Shop) and it was awesome. Always wanted a 335 or a Casino.
Larsongs
I’ve played 335’s, 345’s & Casino’s for years.. I consider them the Essential Guitars. Currently I have a recent Sunburst Gibson Memphis 335 with 57 Classics & 4 Epiphone Casino’s.. A Ltd Edition Sunburst Peerless Casino with Bigsby, 50th Anniv. Ltd Edition Sunburst 1961 Casino with Tremotone, Natural John Lennon Revolution Casino & a recent new USA Casino.. Of all my Electric Guitars, which include Fender’s, Gretsch, Ric’s & other Gibson’s, the Casino’s are the most played.. They are the most versatile & seem to do everything well. Whitefang
They could have saved money and sent it to me. I'd have gladly "aged" it for them for free. My payment would be the enjoyment of it for however long it took me to "age" it to their liking. And I'm a firm believer of the old maxim; "A job slowly done is surely done." And we all know they wouldn't pass that savings on to the customer, so it would have been a "win-win". Whitefang

I'd often theorized about "moving air" and having tone chambers and with that 339 I realized there was something to it. I'd even read somewhere that Les liked the new chambered Les Pauls before he died, and actually bought a chambered Studio after he passed because I'd swapped off my old '72 "Recording" years ago. and didn't own a Les Paul. I had been gigging my '91 Tele and '79 SG. That Studio is an '08 (was nos in 09) and is a fine sounding guitar. Some people don't like the chambers, but I actually do. gearbasher
Here's a question I can't seem to find an answer to. Where in the US are the USA Casinos made? Nashville?

The long term use of a hollow stringed instrument was thought to improve it. It was the idea of the continued vibration of the wood being beneficial. I bought into the idea when I tried to play the violin. I would keep in in a wardrobe with a radio that was permanently on. Did it help? No, but I only did this for a few months. I think Memphis was closed in 2019. I heard it was Fed Ex building now. Edited September 27, 2022 by Sgt. Pepper
SteveFord
The guitar itself is fine, it's what they did to it. It looks like a dried river bed crossed with the mummy.

I also have a Gibson Memphis Blacktop ES Les Paul with Bigsby & MHS Pickups.. It is an amazing Guitar! It was Ltd Production around 2013-2014.. They also produced a Goldtop version with P90’s & Bigsby.. I’ve been searching for a mint used as they were also Ltd Production & sold out quick.. Man, you must have hated to see the Memphis shop close. They built some sweet guitars. I never made it there, and I am only about 3 hours from Memphis. I was really busy back in those days, but that's no excuse.
Big Bill
This has to be the first and only time that a Murphy's Lab product melted my butter. If I had the cash, I would look into getting one of these.

I am disappointed I couldn’t get an ES Les Paul Goldtop with P90’s & Bigsby… I think with one of those & my Memphis Blacktop ES Les Paul with MHS Humbucker Pickups & Bigsby would cover almost all the Gibson Epiphone Sounds I’d need.. Except for my Firebird with Mini HB’s..
