Rumours are they are making a new one' date=' and apparently Slash might be in it [blink

Who would you like to see? My personal vote goes for Gary Moore, Steve Vai and Steve Joshlay [biggrin]

In all seriousness, I would like to see Bonamassa do it, not too sure about what others

Yeah SteveJ would get Gary's autograph... on a restraining order.

I'd love to see:

Buckethead' date=' Dave Grohl, and Iommi!

Though since Buckethead doens't talk, Herbie would have to talk for him...hehehee[/quote']

Buckethead would just do something crazy with his guitar to sound like words.

Hmm... tough one, I think they really nailed the versatile aspect of it with Page, White and The Edge. Not to mention that they're all interesting people of whom I am a fan, well, not as much The Edge as White and Page, but I still think that he deserves an honorable mention for sticking with his guns and having a unique grasp on music.

So, to follow the old setup;

Older - Pete Townshend (taking the place of Jimmy Page)

Old - Angus Young (basically falling into the same category as above, but here taking the place of The Edge)

Contemporary - ... here's where it gets hard, since Jack White is the only really great guitarist of the 00's. But I guess Matt Bellamy of Muse is considered great as well, personally I appreciate most of his work but wouldn't say he has the same soul as the other two. Might make for good conversation?

They should make one about bass players' date=' called "It Might Get Deep," with Jack Bruce, Geddy Lee and Robert Trujillo.[/quote']

Sorry, but that just sounds like a bad porn spin-off [biggrin]

Not too sure about your candidates though, even if it's a nice idea. For me it would rather be John Paul Jones, Jack Bruce and Paul McCartney. Entwistle would've been a given if he were to rise from the dead.

I would have to disagree with that.... what about guys like Dan Donegan and Synyster Gates?? I realize they're no Jimmy Page or anything, but both are pretty great guitarists in their own right. Both have some pretty awesome riffs and I would say they are probably some of the best players of the modern metal era.

I think this lineup would be interesting:

1. Gary Moore

2. Angus Young

3. Dan Donegan
