Just Strum
I won't be getting a new guitar, but some things I've thrown out as "I would like" DiMarzio Pups http://www.stevesmusiccenter.com/DimarzioDP154.html http://www.stevesmusiccenter.com/DimarzioDP162.html Some speakers for building a cab for the Epi Valve Jr http://www.music123.com/Eminence-Patriot-Ragin--Cajun-10--Guitar-Speaker-660038-i1153609.Music123 Soldering Station http://store.cs-sales.net/welowcosoirs.html Strings and picks So, what are some of the things you are wishing for or know will be under a tree. Now the concept is "if you are good" you get some of your wishes, so judging by what I've seen/read, most of you must have a back-up plan.

ef_in_fla
Nah. I'm pretty bad about just buying stuff when I want it. Also my wife figured out years ago that it's impossible to get me "the right thing" when it's hobby related. Bless her she's tried, but usually it doesn't work out. (My fault, not hers.) Just Strum
Guitars seem to be the pre-Christmas purchases. The prices on a lot of things are going to go lower, so don't pull the trigger too quickly. Also, for those buying guitars now, keep an eye on the prices at your place of purchase. If the price goes down, contact them and they will refund the difference. I suggested that to BBird in October, just as his 45 days was about to expire and he got a refund of $240. In fact, I haven't seen him since, probably spending the refund like a drunken sailor.

Mugatu
I bought a new sheet music stand last week, and the wife nearly killed me! She said I'm buying up all of her ideas! From that I can only imagine she's got no ideas for a big present and is buying me lots of little bits. I've said I want a casino VT in turquoise with the bigsby, but they're not easy to get hold of now. I'll settle for a steel slide, a few picks, and maybe even a new strap and a "How to play Pink Floyd with Dave Gilmour" DVD. Actually, I just had my birthday present tonight... a night at the Albert Hall watching Jools Holland and the rhythm and blues orchestra. Mark Flanagan was great, but played a Gibson 335! JefferySmith
Hey, we're supposed to be in a recession, saving our money, storing nuts for the winter. I guess now there are TWO things that are recession-proof: pornography, and guitars.
Sjael
The only thing I'm really missing is a new wah pedal or possibly a mic to replace my broken one. But guitar gear (among other things) is getting pretty expensive over here with the economic situation.

larkin38
Well, until I lost my job last week I was saving up for a Korg Pandora px4. I have about half the money. But it's now on hold til the unemployment checks come in. Or if there's another Govt. stimulus check.

bluesman345
Other bits too like Clapton and Slash's autobiography's AC-DC new album maybe some guitar related clothes too. I honestly can't think of anything that I would want for Christmas - I am just starting to enjoy what I have. =D>/ I just made myself a bunch of guitar/music t-shirts a couple of months ago (bought cheap plain t-shirts and printed my own iron-on transfers eg: epi '56 GT and ZBD, Cream, Jethro Tull, '50' rockabilly artists, etc.). Some of them don't look too bad! I read Clapton's autobiography - it was very good. I would also highly recommend Pattie Boyd's autobio titled, "Wonderful Tonight". I read it after Clapton's and appreciated hearing the "other side" of the story. Actually, I really respect Pattie's gracious treatment of a rather "ungracious" time in her life. She still speaks well of Eric and George.
Dave
Looks like we all buy when the price is right and the guitar is on the shelkf in front of us. Sometimes you have to do that. My wife bought me a Squire Affinity Butterscotch Blonde Tele as my Christmas present before Wall Street died. I probably wouldn't have done that had I known what was around the corner. On top of that, I bought a set of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups to go in it also. It was one of those deals where the local Mom and Pop had it out on display and there weren't going to be many more made. Now I'm shopping for a laptop for her. Pretty commercial these days, but we get what we want, don't we? Grin. And, Staying on topic, My Epis are still the ones that go to the gig. The Tele is a plaything that will mostly stay at home and look nice....
