krock Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Just wondering which wah pedals were most popular with everyone on this forum.
damian Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 My daughters.......all of em...they never break down, the sweep is astounding, and I can hear them from states away.......nuff said...
Searcy Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I have about 7 wah pedals. My favorites are me Dunlap Jimi wah that is amazing. Then would be the Digitech XP100 and them would be the Ibanez Weeping Demon. The Morley Pro Wah II is cool too.
surfpup Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 My modified CryBaby. It takes a few dollars worth of parts and a little soldering to turn one into a real beast!
cabba2203 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Morley Mark Tremonti wah/boost. It's Q is in the sweet spot and I really dig the step on/off system. The added clean boost is helpful, it's been a very reliable wah for the past couple of years. I'm about to pull the trigger on the Morley George Lynch Dragon 2. It has the same step on/off system but has an added "Cocked wah" button with a Q you can set as well as the "Wow" mode which sounded pretty cool on the demos.
Silenced Fred Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I tried out a cheap Vox Wah and it sounds like a Wah. don't use it much, but its there if I need it

I think it was vox that created it anyway. Correct me if im wrong. I was looking into that and for the price it looks ok

I was looking into that and for the price it looks ok I think its the 845. I got it for like 40 bucks at Guitar Center. It pretty much sits around my room except when I'm feeling super ADD and just mess around with it
MojoRedFoot Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I'm really digging the Kirk Hammett wah I bought last week.
bschory Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I've had a standard dunlop CryBaby for the longest time. No setting to tweak, just does what it does best. Love the simplicity. I made a rule when building my home board not to repeat any pedals unless I couldn't find something I really liked. Went an auditioned a bunch of wahs. In the end the CryBaby won me over once again, but this time I went with a 535Q. The build in gain boost is sort of neat, but the tweakable volume and variable Q are fun to mess with, and the wah range selector has been a lot of fun for finding different feels for my songs to have. - B
S t e v e Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 i use a morley "mark tremonti" wah, so...that's my fave
GIANTRobOT42O Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I want this so very badly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpzcvNqfSEc
cabba2203 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I want this so very badly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpzcvNqfSEc Wow, that's pretty cool.
46 and 2 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I want this so very badly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpzcvNqfSEc Cool. That is pretty slick. I dig the on/off.
krock Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 I want this so very badly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpzcvNqfSEc Sounds great and I really like the size and spring loaded rocker and the fact its got auto on/off. But the deal breaker for me is the reverse action rocker
MojoRedFoot Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I used to think they were all pretty much the same....until I got my 3rd one.
brad1 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I love my Ibanez WD7 Weeping Demon Wah. I use it a lot. And after using a half a dozen other wahs, I found I like this one the best.
L5Larry Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 In the early 70's I was given a Thomas Organ Company Cry Baby. It took me a little work to get the potentiometer gear ratio dialed-in to the sweep I wanted, but once I did I've never needed another in almost 40 years.
