This_Dying_Soul
this is a terrible illness, don't wish it on anyone. I watched my father in law slowly waste away because if this disease. It's a slow, miserable death.

rct
I don't think so. huh. Here all this time I thought all the Jimmy Webb stuff was his stuff. I stand corrected. Still, a great guitar player that never got his props. rct
Versatile
IMO and from experience with family, Alzheimer's is just part of the ageing process It has become an emotive label perhaps misused somewhat Used to be called 'going senile' I wish Glen all the best....I had one of his sig Ovations way back when And all the best to his family who will support him throughout..... Alzheimer's is NOT just part of aging. And it is not an emotive labe: it is a very real disease, with devastating effects, and of course, death. Loads of people reach old age with out major diminishment such as Alzheimer's.
DanvillRob
Steve... As funny as that was it I had to say "Oh man" after the chuckle... Cold... Dave, the problem is that in order to make a joke, there has to be some time pass after a tragedy.... which is why Roger Ebert's comments about that Jackass guy were taken so badly. Had he waited some, the same statements would have been considered humor. humor = tragedy + time. I watched my wife's grandmother die from Parkenson's. I figured Parkenson's is hell on the person. Their mind is still good but their body fails them. Alzheimers is the opposite, the body stays good and the mind goes....so it's hell on the care-giver. I can think of several jokes about Glenn and some of his songs...but I'll save them for another time.
Californiaman
I think Glen will be OK in the long run. He's a strong man and has a great support group around him. In the end, he'll have some of the best care ever.
sparky scott 29
As a kid growing up, well in age only maybe, we used to watch that show every week. I think right after that was the Sonny and Cher show if I remember well.... Sad to hear that about him...

bonzoboy
That's a terrible disease I watched my mother die from Rapid Onset Alzheimer's,in just a short 3 month period she went from perfectly normal to literally starving to death. As she had signed a living will keeping her alive artificially by tube feeding etc. was out of the question. My heart goes out to Glen Campbell and his family.I hope his is the slowly progressing type so at least he'll still have some quality time left.Glen Campbell has always been known as the consumate guitarist and as a member of the famed Wrecking Crew was on countless number one hits by everyone from The Monkees,Gary Lewis and the Playboys,Frank and Nancy Sinatra and the list goes on.God Bless you and keep you safe Mr. Campbell. brundaddy
I dated a girl who was named after one of the Hee Haw girls. Sucks for Glen Campbell but he's had an amazing and successful life. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
