Just had another list to Ray LaMontage there JC

he is bloody good.. funnily enough my doctor recommended me to him a few weeks back

still..theres just something that doesnt want me to delve deeper..i tried after the doc's advice.... wonder what it is ?

Lamontitis... seems to be rare among singer/songwriter fans but I find I've been afflicted too. The odd listen and yes it's decent an all that, yet I'll not make a point to listen.....

Wow, that Roberto Columbo guy is fantastic!

I found this guy the other day and I think he's a pretty talented songwriter. AND.... Gibson content! (skip to :42 seconds to avoid the blathering of the announcers)

Great to see you back here kiddo, you were sorely missed.

"Royal Wood" gee you're kinda picky [rolleyes]

Jamey Johnson's Hank Cochran Tribute Album

With a few exceptions, I loved the CD.

Merle Haggard, Kris Kristoperson, and Bobby Bare are a few of my all time favorites, but their age was really showing up on this CD but I'd still pay to see them.

Leon Russell has been painful to listen to for quite a few years.

Ray Price still holds his own and I think he's the oldest of the group.

Willie always does a great job, I don't think his voice is aging a bit.

Everyone one else was great -

“Make the World Go Away” – Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss

“I Fall to Pieces” – Jamey Johnson and Merle Haggard

“A Way to Survive” – Jamey Johnson, Vince Gill and Leon Russell

“Don’t Touch Me” – Jamey Johnson and Emmylou Harris

“You Wouldn’t Know Love” – Jamey Johnson and Ray Price

“I Don’t Do Windows” – Jamey Johnson and Asleep at the Wheel

“She’ll Be Back” – Jamey Johnson and Elvis Costello

“Would These Arms Be in Your Way” – Jamey Johnson

“The Eagle” – Jamey Johnson and George Strait

“A-11” – Jamey Johnson and Ronnie Dunn

“I’d Fight the World” – Jamey Johnson and Bobby Bare

“Don’t You Ever Get Tired of Hurting Me” – Jamey Johnson and Willie Nelson

“This Ain’t My First Rodeo” – Jamey Johnson and Lee Ann Womack

“Love Makes a Fool of Us All” – Jamey Johnson and Kris Kristofferson

“Everything But You” – Jamey Johnson, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson and Leon Russell

“Livin’ for a Song” – Jamey Johnson, Hank Cochran, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson

I kid you not. I met Glen Hansard at an open mic! He was the featured act, but still. It was around 1999 in the States. I walked over to him at the end of his set to compliment him and he gave me a CD and his then-current email. Lovely, down to earth guy.

I'd like to recommend Richard Hawley for his Jim Reeves meets Lee Hazlewood vibe. Many good records to choose from. Look for the track "Ashes On The Fire"

Mark Kozelek: who has performed as himself, as Red House Painters and Sun Kil Moon.... a big Gibson man, too.

Rodriguez -- who is receiving his due as the subject to the Searching For Sugar Man film.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Jeff Lynne Long Wave album.

Enjoyed the new Patterson Hood mentioned upthread. And Will Johnson of Centromatic's new one, Scorpion, sounded nice.

Finally, Steve Forbert's new one Over With You sounds like he's been taking voice lessons from Bob Dylan, circa 1993, but some nice rustic folk singer-songwriter stuff.
