  1. I've just got the Podcast of Welcome to Nightvale ep1 up now. Book looks good too.
  2. There are a few in my neck of the woods (uk) but most dealers have limited or no stock. I imagine you are in NJ ? I would have supposed you'd be well catered for there!
  3. That's a good question. I also have a ES-339 Studio and it does have a rich complex tone. Though I sometimes find it difficult to EQ when playing a gig with 'difficult' acoustics. While using this and other similar builds have altered my appreciation of tone, I still enjoy the Fender sound, -though I have moved across to the Tele now.
  4. Chrome does indeed go the distance. Personally I dont mind some hardware tarnish though.
  5. Fujigen! Excellent. My CoolZ 'Tele' is Fujigen built. So many small details improved/redesigned make it a great playing experience. So will you be making a visit to check out the guitar?
  6. You are right. There are possibilities. The pubs here in the uk have just opened (though its difficult to use them). Also, playing acoustic in the open air could be done easily enough. You could also meet up at some remote location using the What3words geocode system. We wouldn't disturb much in a forest. The THR30iiW amp I just scored has an internal battery so that's portable too.
  7. I dont, but tried finding stuff too. They do seem excellent, though pricey. Cant even find who makes them (just curious, all MIJ are good).
  8. Another Dirty Finger would seem the obvious choice. Any reason why not?
  9. Truth be told, I have not used them. I doubt there would be a great deal of difference, but its worth trying the Premiums out. They may last a little longer or maybe sound subtly different? Why not suck it and see? Its only a set of strings after all.
  10. While pickups can change your sound, they can't make your MM sound like a SG. I've changed out pickups and not gotten the result I was after. The design/build makes a massive difference to the sound of a guitar.
  11. That sounds idyllic. Sadly, where I live there is nowhere remote enough to play in the open without violating the peace!
  12. Guitarist: I want a great tone. Devil: Give me your soul and you can have it. Guitarist: Take my sins instead. Devil: Your sins?! Guitarist: Yeah. The priest is always telling me “a tone for your sins”
  13. I'm curious. Realising I'm in the minority here makes me wonder what knee you are resting the guitar on? I'm right handed and rest the guitar on the left knee. To me this is secure enough not to need a strap. In fact, I couldn't use a strap on my classical guitar even if I wanted to because it has no strap pin.
  14. That's why I think Gibson still try to push innovation where they can get away with it. They probably surmise us old guys wont be replaced with more old guys when we are gone.
  15. Really nice collection. The obvious question is do you have a favourite? I have one Fender amp. An aging Stage 112 (no tubes). The last Fender item I bought was last year; an ashtray cover for a T-style Fujigen guitar.
  16. Dentists & Accountants? No, that's PRS. Those kids are mixed up. Congrats on the Jr. Gibson regularly bring out affordable blingless guitars. They are great I think because they are still loaded with premium hardware & pickups. Post a picture or two?
  17. Nice to hear it. We seldom get to do that. Thanks 👌 Congrats. I love the 2015 models also.
  18. I bought 5 various expensive instrument cables 20 years ago. I 'retired' one of them 3 years ago. The others are going strong still and will likely see me out. The retired one lasted 17 years of gigging before beginning to sound noisy. That thing paid for itself many times over. It earned its retirement. The cheap cables I used as a youngster all became noisy within a couple of months, which meant of course that they weren't really cheap at all.
  19. Like Twang Gang, I use a signal processor to get my sound. This then slaves the amp in 'dry' mode so it minimises any further colouration. Works well. Occasionally I might line out to the PA too. I don't need much sustain. Anyway, sometimes too much sustain can negatively impact the overall tone.
  20. You have to do it if its for safety. Myself, I seldom use a strap seated.
