BlackHawk233 Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Well I have been wondering what all of you play the most. I myself go from AC/DC-Led Zeppelin-Metallica-System of a Down-GNR.. I love it all! Now when I am making my own music I make hard rock instrumentals...
ninety1vee Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 i play rock, blues, classical, and metal (thrash metal, not nu-metal)
BlackHawk233 Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 I'm mostly for Metallica so thrash metal is where I'm at.
TheJman Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I chose other... The original music that my band has been coming out with has all the influences, musically and lyrically, of Southern Rock, Blues, Alternative, and Country. I don't know what you would really call it. People around where I'm from call it Reddirt or Texas Rock, but I don't think that really describes it. It's a mystery
AXE® Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Hard rock or Polka, depends on the moooood yaknow.
HankCole Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 They're calling it "Americana" around here. That evidently means everything that ain't "C"rap, thrash or metal. We can play an hour's worth of originals and never hit on the same style twice.
KingMetalHeart Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 This poll is not living up to what it ought to be??? I see that Richi plays rock-n-roll but the post states 0 for that topic and BlackHawk plays metal...again a 0 wtf???? I like to play Rock-n-roll and metal as well as some classic rock. I am expecting another 0. I do math all day at work so I just don't feel like figuring out the percentages.,but I can't help to notice that there are 14 votes but only 11 posts? Something is amiss?
djroge1 Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I have spent time playing a lot of different music - country, rock, blues, jazz, reggae, bluegrass, and folk in various bands. When I played rock there wasn't metal, thrash, shred etc... it was all rock. Today I guess you would call it classic rock? Now days I mostly play Blues/Jazz which to me seems to go from the easiest to the hardest to play (next to polka that is).
vagabond Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Blues, because when you're from a small, shitty town in the Midwest outside of Chicago, it just makes sense that you play what you grew up with.
Murph Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I didn't vote because I gig with a bar band that plays Classic Rock, Blues, Motown, Classic Country, and a little new Country. We work very steady....... Murph.
BlackHawk233 Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 I should have added a tab called "Everything" or "Anything". Even I play a lot of different stuff.
James Allen Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Blues mostly. But I do love a good hard rock riff!
KSG_Standard Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Hard rock or Polka' date=' depends on the moooood yaknow.[/quote'] LOL! AXE, you kill me! Do you have an accordian or a tuba? I play music, mostly blues based stuff which includes rock and hard country...maybe I'll have to look into some blues based polka music.
dem00n Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I play metal mostly and pretty much other things i dont play Nu-Metal though Nu metal is for the the kids who dont know what they like...
SRV-Zeppelin Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I couldn't vote because I play quite a few; Classic Rock and Electric Blues mostly (take a look at my name) by I also play old acoustic blues from the 30s - 50s and some newer alt stuff for fun (Billy Talent, etc.)
MReynolds Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Well I didn't vote since there isn't a topic for "All" or "Many". I don't consider myself one-dimensional. I play rock, rock and roll, blues, country, gospel, Irish/Celtic, Alternative, etc. So it's hard to just vote for one type.
deepblue Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 The blues had a baby and called it rock n' roll! I play bluesy 60's and 70's style rock.....you know....The GOOD stuff!
surfpup Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Seems to me the best music is always a mix of those categories - so that's what I'm goin' for!
