Face It Alone, which the late singer recorded during sessions for 1989 album The Miracle, was given its premiere by BBC Radio 2's Ken Bruce on Thursday.

"We did find a little gem from Freddie, that we'd kind of forgotten about," drummer Roger Taylor said about the track in June.

"It's wonderful, a real discovery. It's a very passionate piece."

The song is one of six unreleased tracks to feature in a forthcoming box set of The Miracle, four of which feature Mercury's vocals.

I was never a Queen fan....until a few years ago when I had time to actually listen to them.

Freddy was a master showman, and a superb musician and songwriter.

And who could deny that Brian May could carry any band by himself.

Great find....bittersweet song.... I like it.

Out of interest..  My 13 year old niece has recently gotten in to rock music and her absolute favourite (at the moment) is Queen..

I asked her today if she liked the new song and to my surprise she said yes, she really likes it which I thought was interesting coming from someone so young ( in fact she was the one who told me last week that this release was coming).
