The 1960.

By a long, long way.

Which one looks cooler and has more character?

Visually, I find the 07 very boring indeed - almost lacking in character. It might be a great player, of course, but very dull to look at.

Then again; my best two guitars are also on the dull side, visually.

The only thing that matters is how they sound.

IMHO.

The 1960. However the 2008 looks nice. If all three of them were lined up in the store, I would probably not even look at the 2007. But then I'd play all three and see which one sings to me and plays the best. If it happens to be the 2007, I guess I'd give it a shot. I'm a sucker for beautiful flame tops and the 2007 is the lesser of the three, so she would have to sound and play awesome.

Did anyone notice that the 50th anniversary is 2 separate guitars?

Anyway, something about the first one gets me. I think the tight but yet mediumish flame is not only purdy but it somehow seems authentic to me, like the maple seen on the 60's Gibsons. So does the other 50th aniversary, but I like the straghter one better.

the 2007, while I think I would like the top, I don't feel I like the color of it.

The 2008, I like the way the fat flames show all the way through on the whole top. I like the way it compliments the shape of the cutaway and frames the switch.

Overall, I like the first 50th, and maybe tied for the 2nd 50th and the 2008. The 2007, I don't really care for.

Definitely the 50th Anniversary 1960. It's got more of a "mojo" look about it and the volume/tone knobs have the marker/pointer under them

so you know where your dialed in (especially for us older guys who have a hard time seeing) and I think it adds class to the guitar. I have

them on all my Gibson and Epiphone electric guitars. I'm hoping to get another Gibson soon. The Heritage Cherry SG Standard seems to be calling

my name and I'll put the marker/pointers on that one, too. [thumbup]
