  1. KB - your a tech guy, why can't i just think what i want it to do - and then it happens. could you do something about that? Age of information, should be a way to do it. ps - i did figure out my issue with IMGUR (this time) but seems to have a lot. Will investigate the options above (and again ty all)
  2. Impressive, electronics are black magic to me.
  3. I thought it sounded like a step in the right direction, but agree with Scales - feels like they're making it up as they go along. Along with Gibson's positioning with guitar makers being a thing, I'm wondering what's going to happen with retail. Will we start to see Gibsons in small shops again... that's what I'm hoping for.
  4. oh my goodness - think i'll just learn to use my words 🙂
  5. Thank you all, fun to read through the thread. Some good stuff up there, and I got introduced to a few new things. In the words of tpbii - keep pickin'!
  6. Folks it's a little quiet around here, so hoping some targeted background noise would be welcome. There's some talented folks here, some folks here with nice collections, and some talented folks with nice collections... I know people are playing. Whose playing what on what guitars right now? Me - guitar, J45...(my super sweet, doubly awesome cool, jealousy inducing J45) Songs: Johnny Cash - Gods gonna cut you down Eurythmics - Sweet things Take me out t the ballgame Box Tops - The letter (gulp) Original - This quirky look -------------- Anyone?
  7. strength of the magnets play a big part in the output. not sure how closely that is controlled or may differ between pickups?
  8. Forgot about that, I know what I'm listening to on my commute tonight
  9. My other half came with the guitar, but she hasn't touched it in 15 yrs... she is nice though.
  10. Been mostly acoustic of late, and previously when I was electric, I was going with a strat... but the strat's been sold, I picked up a J45 and been basically acoustic the last couple years. Recently, I've been struggling through an acoustic version of AC/DCs rock n roll aint noise pollution - saw my wife's SG on the wall, and figured in the name of Angus - had to plug it in. It's a '67 I believe, maybe '68 - p'ups have been replaced with Seymor Duncans along the way, but still sounds good to me, and for the first time the neck felt nice. Compared to the strat it always felt too thin, but since that's been out of the picture awhile guess I've evolved - this one felt nice... and man, it's just a freakin' good looking guitar! No clips or nothing, just a story of SG happiness 🙂
  11. Hi all - I'm having a hard time with IMGUR lately and being able to get to my photos to post in threads, do people use other sites for posting photos that they would recommend? (Maybe this is a lounge question, but some folks here post some nice photos...) Rgds - billroy
  12. Seems like a limiting strategy, hopefully just for the short term.
  13. Makes sense in theory - a neck reset changing tone of a guitar, but surprised I hadn't heard it before given the number of guitars around with neck resets. Has anyone experienced that? I have found using a chop stick for a string pin changes tone. I guess when it needs it though, a neck reset is required, so even though it may affect tone - still has to occur?
  14. Nice guitar, nice setting... your friend looks like she's staring at you intently to see where you were going with a conversation - and it could go either way, were you causing some mischief up there?
  15. For my education - Is neck twist something that can be repaired, or is it something to look out for and avoid? Thanks and Rgds - b.
  16. Really been thinking about it, you should get both.
  17. I think it depends on your experience with guitars. I think the '45 banner would be awesome, but could take a bit of maintenance to get it in and keep it in shape if you're planning to use it as your every day player. If you have a guy and / or able to do that yourself - that would be my pick. Not being that guy, I settled on a new J45 'Vintage'... meaning torrefied top. It's awesome, I'll use it to death and never worry. I've only heard good things about legends, so if that's in the cards - (and you're not the maintenance type of guy), I would go that way. Good problem to have!
  18. This is the type of history lesson I can get into!
  19. Super sweet looking guit. I've been focusing on the acoustic front - when you get a new electric, how do you like to put it through it's paces... at volume, through what equipment?
  20. Wow nice pics! Surprising contrast between new and old. Super congrats to your boss.
