After three years of saving my loonies and twonies (Canadian $1 and $2 coins) and Long and McQuade gift cards I finally found the acoustic guitar I have been needing. The time was right and the price was right so it was time to go all in.

This is a 2009 Gibson J45. It sounds and feels exceptionally, bright highs and deep low end and Spinal Tap-like sustain. As with most Gibsons it came with a very nice case. It came down to a Martin D35 or D28 and this one and it won out in the end.

As part of the deal I traded this 2003 Epiphone PR6e

At one of ourt open mics, the guy who runs it has one of those and he leaves it there for people who wanna play but didn't bring their own guitar. Drives me nuts because he doesn't have it on a stand and people just plop it back in its case and I want to scream.

That guitar is beautiful. I like the dark color bursts.

That's kinda funny because it was the same for me.

I am also a Canuck and also at L&M it came down to the J-45, the D-28, a Taylor and a Larivee.

After a couple days of pain I always came back to that J-45.

The last day I had the sales dude stand in front of me an play them all and not tell me what he was playing.

That J-45 stood way out of the crowd.

Congrats on your new guitar. They are awesome guitars.

And don't it smell beautiful? hehe.
