Big Bill
Have any of you guys used these straps on your Gibsons? I bought one and I think it is just awesome, very comfortable. I would state it one of the best I ever owned. Price is unbelievable thus the post. https://walkerandwilliams.com/ The site claims they use fine leathers... yada yada yada. I have no complaints but a concern. I think they may have other materials included and/or oils to treat the leather that might hurt the nitro finish on a Gibby. Any body use these, your thoughts? Brytam
Yes. Just got one a few weeks ago: the C-34 strap https://walkerandwilliams.com/product/walker-williams-c-34-black-and-red-double-padded-premium-leather-strap/. It is a very well made strap that is so comfortable on my shoulder, especially with a heavy Les Paul guitar hanging from it. It is a thick strap & I was concerned about the strap slipping off the guitar so I am now using the Dunlop 7000 strap locks so I can take the strap off the front of the guitar when put in the case (so case will close). I simply lay the strap down the fretboard & over the headstock to close the case. It was a GREAT decision to switch over to this strap - I can now play for hours if needed in comfort, plus it looks great with my wine red Les Paul! So far, no issues. rct
I have a bunch of them. All good. Blue one for blue strat, red one for red strat, etc. Good stuff, reasonable prices. I don't keep straps, or anything else for that matter, in the case, just the guitar, so I have no experience with them messing up any good paint. rct
Big Bill
Thank gents! I truly love this strap! I have my guitars on the wall with the straps on so I can pull an go. Just worried about the oils and stuff they put on the strap. I got this one. https://walkerandwilliams.com/product/gb-126-black-cherry-padded-strap-with-texas-stars-skulls-tooling/
rct
Holy crap dude I thought it was pretty bad down here, you guys have tornadoes roaming around! More tornadoes in South Jersey this year than in my entire life combined. rct
Twang Gang
Really nice looking straps from those guys, and can't believe how low their prices. Hey Bill, I thought I read in another post that you had ordered a new LP 50s Standard - but never saw a NGD post about it?
zigzag
Those are great looking straps with tons of design options and great prices. Thanks for posting. Nitrocellulose is not oil soluble regardless of grade. I would imagine if that was a problem, someone would have alerted people by now. There is a leathersmith close to me, and he makes great straps, but nothing close to that variety, and his straps typically sell for closer to $50. Marky Forrest
Thanks for the link, Bill. Those are some very nice straps.
Old Cowboy
They're excellent straps. Great leather and craftsmanship at a decent price. Also, good length w/plenty of adjustment.
badbluesplayer
Nice!! They look like they're very affordable. ✔️
Larsongs
They look really well made.. The double padded ones look interesting. Wonder if the Black one with the Conchos would look good with my Memphis Blacktop ES Les Paul with Bigsby?
Beerad12
I ordered a c-22 a few weeks ago while killing time on amazon. Thought what hell, why not. It was a little wider than I preferred at first but after playing with it I have found it to be very comfortable. Nice thick leather, and overall feels like a quality product. I sure don't need another strap but a little change up might be nice.

pauloqs
I just ordered one. A C-20 in dark brown. It'll be interesting to see how these compare to my Levi's M4GF. I know Levi's is wider (3.5" vs 3"), but it looks like the C-20 has more padding.
pauloqs
I liked my C-20 so much I got a C-22 as well 🙂. The C-22 is the most comfortable starp I've ever used followed closely by the C-20. The extra padding on the C-22 make it a bit more comfortable for me. The C-20 stays in place just a little bit better than the C-22. The Levi's stay in place even better than the C-20 because of the internal suede material on the Levi's. However, on a 8lbs 10oz LP, I had no issues finding a comfortable position with the C-22 playing for over 2 hours. I also noticed that the C-20 is a bit cooler, but that isn't to say that the C-22 get excessively hot. These are great straps at a very reasonable price. I ended up liking these straps even better than my Levi's, which says a lot. The extra padding compared to the Levi's really made the difference. Thank's for bringing them to my attention, Bill. merciful-evans
Mine arrived yesterday. Pleased with them. A bit darker than expected but good looking and good quality. I would have had them last week but had to pay Royal Mail their ransom money first. No, it shouldn't incur a customs charge (though the card they delivered said it did) but they added some tax and the usual £8 'handling' charge. Total £19.08 extra. If you don't pay, they send it back to America. Now i need some more strap retainers. I'm trying Grover ones this time. Will this incur more charges? It just seems random sometimes. Lonnie K
Wanted to give a shout out to Griffin at Walker & Williams Guitar Straps. I had purchased a couple of their straps a few years ago, one which I cannot remember the model or name (which is no longer on their website), and one of their signature models C-21-BLK padded which is a very nice comfortable strap that has held up well. I had not used the model that I cannot remember (photos attached), in some time, and just noticed that the leather was coming apart and flaking off, unlike belt grade 100% full grain leather, more like PU leather. I noticed some other posts with similar issues for some of their straps. I sent an email to Walker & Williams noting my disappointment with the quality of the strap and included the photos. I received an immediate response from Griffin, telling me that they had a quality issue and discontinued those straps a couple of years ago. He said he wanted to make it right, and send me my choice of strap from their website, pointing out that their premium C-22 signature straps were top of the line. Having their C-21 from that same line, I could agree. I selected the C-22 double padded distressed dark brown https://walkerandwilliams.com/produ...m-distressed-dark-brown-leather-guitar-strap/ I offered to pay the difference between it and the one which I cannot remember the name or price, and he said no payment was necessary, they wanted to make it right. They made a customer for life with me. I would highly recommend Walker & Williams Guitar Straps. They do produce high quality straps, and want to keep those high standards as demonstrated by eliminating the poor quality leather straps, and by having great customer service. merciful-evans
I got another since this old thread too. I had to source it via another company as W&W (at that time) would ship worldwide with the exception of the UK. They explained why. They were sick of the money grubbing treatment meted out to British customers by Royal Mail. I concur 100% with W&W about this, I also just checked the website again. Looks like we may be able to order from them direct again now. I still prefer these straps. I have stopped gigging though so dont play standing any more. Therefore I dont use straps now. duane v
The most comfortable guitar straps I have used are the Gibson Slingshot Leather Guitar Straps. They make the heaviest Les Paul feel comfortable.
RBSinTo
In answer to Big Bill's original post, no I've never bought or used any Walker & William's straps. Being a function over form person, I always buy padded nylon straps which I customize by removing the adjusting hardware, and sewing them to optimal length for each guitar, as I like my guitars to sit up high on my chest. Cheap and cheerful. And my audience that consists of our three cats have never complained about my strap choices. RBSinTo
