therookie_123
Hey guys. Im bored so id thought id start a conversation started haha. My two main electric guitars are a Strat that was built by a friend (Michelle) and a Gibson ES 335 (Shelby). Michelle got her name from a girl i knew who was obsessed with the color red. Red nails, red shoes, red dresses, red accessories, just about everything was red. And although she was nice, if you pissed her off, her attitude was off the charts. Well my Fiesta Red Fat Strat, had a set of pickups that were very subtle and smooth, but when a Overdrive was introduced, it screamed!!! Anyway thas how she got her name. lol Shelby got her name from another girl I knew. Anyways, she was old fashioned, and was a very "clean" sort of girl. So when I picked up the 335, I was playing a lot of R & B and a lot of clean stuff. So i thought, "old-fashioned" guitar, very warm clean sound... i thought "HEY! Who does that remind me of?" Then of course wen the OD was introduced, the guitar reminded me a fast guitar. Mean, and a lot of attitude. Like a Shelby GT500, which I will never own sadly : ( Anyway Id appreciate the replies guys (and girls)!!!!!! Hoping to hear sum interesting stories!!! Peace! Twiz
My SG is named Cecilia, that's my mom & grandma's middle name and I love them two. The natural finish Les Paul Special I've just been calling Lester (until I can think of a good name, I just got this one a few months ago). The black LP Special I call Shondell because I bought it off of a guy that played in the touring band for Tommy James and the Shondells. My Epiphone EL-00 I call Smitty. I'm not sure how I arrived at that name, but I suspect beer was involved. -That's the guitar I always grab when people are hanging out at my apartment. I dunno, I think I just like saying "I'll go get Smitty, let's jam!"

After much work, we dated for a while...until she played me-and bad! So now, I play her.

Tman
Body parts? I knew this would go there, or at least that's what I thought about. My guitars are collectively called "The Tiergarten" or the zoo because I have 2 Zebrawood Gibsons and I'm looking at expanding that theme.

Super24
While on this topic, I must ask.....Is it considered to be "alternate lifestyle-ish" if your guitar has a male name?
therookie_123
While on this topic' date=' I must ask.....Is it considered to be "alternate lifestyle-ish" if your guitar has a male name?[/quote'] No not really. My bass guitar i named Hoss. Just because it reminded me of this biker dude i saw I tv named Hoss haha. If you think about, I think that alot of people would consider it "alternate lifestyle-ish" to just name your guitar after a person haha. I mean alot of the Guitar Gods like Jimmy Page never named there guitars with an actual "human name" [as we know it]. He calls his Les Paul's Number 1 and Number 2 haha.
