Your Dream (not currently produced) Epiphone?

If you could persuade Epiphone to reissuse any of their guitars what would it be? Here are a few I think about before I go to bed at night and if ever produced would give me the GAS. I think it's a shame that at the present the quality option seems to be standard chinese production or exclusive 100 copies at $2000-3000. I liked what Epiphone have done with the Texan and the Casino offering different levels of the same guitar so that you can get something better than a standard guitar without having to be made of money or forced to buy a different brand. But this isn't another thread saying Bring Back Elitist (although I agree!). This thread is for you to express what you would like to see in the Epiphone range if the choice was yours.

Would it be a reissue? Would it be an Epiphone model of a Gibson guitar for which there's not yet an equivalent? Would it be completely custom? Or just an adjustment of a current model? Please share your ideas, dreams, fantasies etc...

I'll make no secret about the fact that my favourite guitars come from the sixties. I've had some trouble even narrowing it down to just a couple. I think what attracts me to Epiphone so much is not the Gibson copies but the Epiphone character that was put into the guitars way back when.

1. Coronet and Olympic Reissues: I'd love to see these done again to a respectable standard that goes beyond the regular Les Paul and SG price range but not as extreme as the new Wilshire 62 Reissue. I know they did a terrible reissue in the 90s of the Coronet with sparkly finishes and no p-90s so I'd like to see one more like the original 60s models so I can stand in front of the mirror pretending to be Steve Marriot. Including classic colours and batwing headstocks as well as nice custom cases to match.

2. Epiphone Granada/Century: At the other end of the spectrum I'd like to see these simple archtops being raised from the dead. I think they're two of the more simple designs but have a great look and would be a great addition to the Epiphone line. I think it would create a bit of buzz and don't think they'd be the most expensive guitars to make.

I'd also love it if they created a Royal Tan or Ice Tea finish for the Casinos, Rivieras, Sorrentos etc. Last but not least, I'd like to see an Epiphone/Bigsby Collaberation to recreate some of the 60s Tremolo and Vibrola units with the Epiphone "E" logo... I think they looked great on these old models.

How about just the dot line' date=' even dot studios, being offered with P90s instead of humbuckers, i realy want a semi hollow with p90s damit, the casino is great but you cant get nasty with her, just a dot with P90s thats all i want, or how about just more epiphones offered with p90s[/quote']

+1, or a Sheraton II w/ P-90s. Also bring back the GENESIS damn it!

It's been mentioned before but worth repeting, How about a Ted Nugent Signature Epi Byrdland with the

right cut and the Ted approved pickups and modifications? Any color would be fine, but heck, how many

different Zakk's have there been so far?

I don't dream of no Epi's guitars... Dont misunderstand me, I love my Ultra Les Paul. But If I would have a real dream, it would be GIBSON to produce a Les Paul Standard for the price of an Epi Les Paul... I know...I'm making a nightmare.....

It was just mentioned in another thread ...

I am gassing badly for a Firebird VII. Something about this guitar has really put the hook in me. As was mentioned in that thread as well as my own thread where I asked for your opinions on it, I would love to see this made with the original neck-through design. Don't need the banjo tuners ...

Double cutaway Les Paul, structured the same as the current LP single cut range. Cheaper, lower end models, standard models, and more expensive models with flamed finishes etc. Some with P90s, some with Humbuckers. I still wouldn't be able to afford one, but I guess I could wait a few years for some reasonably priced used ones to come up for sale. And their intorduction might even bring the price of single cut LPs down some so I could afford one of them instead!

+1 on the Firebird ! I would like to see Epi take it a step further and build it to Elitist quality. I would also like to see an elitist quality Les Paul Junior with P-90s.
