I just bought "The White Album" mainly for nostalgia reasons. The Beatles are probably in my middle group - I simply like them.

Don't be sorry about who you don't like music wise. Everybody has their own tastes. I dislike Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead, and the Doors (hate is too strong of a word I think).

Yes maybe hate is a strong word, dislike I think is much better. I can't stand any of their stuff. However I respect them totally, not many musicians can say they did what they have done in their life time.

Don't even get me started about the Rolling Stones, man I could go on and on about how much I dislike them lol.

Haha.. don't feel sorry. They are one of my favorites, but I know they're not for everyone.

If it makes you feel better, I can't stand the stones or pink floyd.

The Beatles have some good songs, same with the stones and pink floyd. I can only take so much of it before I'm done

I appreciate what the Beatles did, and the way they did it. I understand their place in Rock & Roll history. I agree that some of their songs will live forever as some of the greatest "pop" songs ever written. I realize that Beatles songs will be played on the radio for all eternity, BUT........

I was already sick and tired of hearing their music on the radio in 1970 when they broke up, and there seems to be no relief still to this day. Commercial radio has "ruined" many bands, and/or songs, for me by being OVERPLAYED. The Beatles have been overplayed, and overexposed since about 1965. I have endured 45 years of this barrage, and that's about 40 years too much.

And don't even get me started about Beatles Tribute Bands.

I think the thing that has to be taken into account with the Beatles, Elvis etc..is the fact that they were the first to do it. It's all been done now.

Imagine being with Les Paul in the beginning?

With the Beatles when Beatlemania came?

With Elvis when he shook his hips?

It's not just the music.

I know I'll get flack about this. I hate the Beatles, I know they were such great musicians but I just can't help but turning off the radio when their on.

The post of a major troll - obviously in for attention. [rolleyes]

No worries

In tribute to your courage [biggrin] I recorded a little Dear Prudence Demo (short version) with my blackberry phone for ya. Excuse the quality, but I do dig the way my Casino sounds unplugged... [biggrin]

I liked it Duane, good work.

Personally I do like a lot of Beatles music, songs like Happiness is a Warm Gun, Revolution, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds. Of course my dad is a big fan, he always had the Beatles, REO, 38 special and a ton of other stuff playing on the record player when I was little.

I assume you've only heard what the radio plays? That's the problem. They have such a large body of work, you need to check out the lesser known stuff.

I think the lesser known stuff is much better than the radio stuff and no I've never heard that song before. I made it all the way through...
