ChanMan
I've not played the 50's tribute, but I have played a Traditional, and they are one of my favorite LPs. I'd play them and see which one sounded and played better if it were me. Hope this helps :)
NeoConMan
Traditional is worth more, and more to my liking. If they are both good players - yes.

I havent tried playing a traditional yet...From what I've seen in pictures, traditional s have a very nice and shiny finish.

retrosurfer1959
I didn't buy one of the newest Studio's because after all the hype it's still just a Studio - The Traditional is worth two of the Studio's and doesn't have fake wear and fake mojo so yep no contest. Dub-T-123
Well if it was a straight trade then it'd be an easy yes for me. But the $500 makes it a little harder. If the Trad is in good condition and you like the way it feels and sounds then I'd say yes.
Duende
binding and 57 classics vs no binding and p90s?? Personally I would keep the later and spend $500 on more music books and/or a different amp Matt
cookieman15061
I agree with Matt on this one. If the current studio feels right in your hands then maybe the extra cash can be well spent on other things including a quality amp. "Your sound" is a 3 part equation. Pickups/ Amp/ and your very own personal Mojo = your sound. In the case "mojo" would be what you personally bring to the instrument. Which to me is most important of all. Clapton sounds like Clapton even if he's playing a $99 guitar through a megaphone.
Silenced Fred
With the extra 500 dollars, i don't know. If you like the guitar you have, then keep it. If you want humbuggies, go with the Traditional. Personally, I love P90s and would probably spend the 500 on a good amp (if you don't already have one) or just put that money towards your next new guitar
mcmurray
They both came off the same CNC mill, it's not like these things are hand carved anymore. And as Matt said, you won't have P90's with the traditional.
