It pains me to do this but...

AS90

It's a strange reason really, I play my Squier Tele much more these days. I hate seeing such a nice guitar just sitting there and think I might as well sell it and buy a nice USA Tele. I'm still not sure though, I know I will regret it eventually.

AS90...SAVE for the new Telecaster! Do NOT sell this lovely Sheraton Elitist!

They're hard to come by, and have lovely tone, action, quality...and they're

great looking, too. ;>) You WILL regret selling it, trust me! And, if you're

anything like me, you go through periods, where you play one guitar more, but

then...you want that Semi-hollow body tone, and out comes the "Sheri!"

Seriously...unless you've really fallen out of love, with the Sheraton, and feel

you just have to "move on," I'd keep it! (Just my 2-cents worth)

I have a similar thing with my Sheraton and Strat. Sometimes I think the Strat is the only guitar I'll ever need, and other times I really enjoy playing the Sheraton. I nearly sold the sheri due to new-baby related financial difficulties, and I'm really glad I haven't so far, something stopped me. I'd made the decision to keep it and then came across a quote by Sir Henry Royce, "the quality is remembered long after the price is forgotton." Maybe you could keep the Elitist and have a US tele?

KEEP IT!!!! Fenders, etc, are a dime a dozen (well, not quite, but you know what I mean) . The Elitists are gone, apparently for good....the 'litists are a shining piece of Epiphone history, even if "modern" history, their greatest claim since being Gibson-ized. Keep her and cherish her, as you know it'll break your heart to get rid of her .... definitely sell something else, if you need the cashish ...

Just took this pic of my Sherri, now wondering if I am doing the right thing?

How can you even think, about selling your beloved Sheri??! DON'T DO IT! ;>)

There will always be time for a "Fender!" They're not going anywhere! Elitists

are GONE! Hang on to it!! Especially, after you put all that work into it,

getting it just the way you wanted! ;>b

DONT DO IT MAN!

I want every single geet I ever sold (& there's been a few) back now... & possibly only one of them (an Ibby Bob Weir Tree of Life Musician) was anywhere near as nice as your Sherri.

wait & save... save & wait!!!

Mixed feelings about this, it's a real shame you got rid of the sherri, but then got a beautiful tele in it's place, I know you must have thought long and hard about this so I'm happy it's what you wanted, HNGD mate, hope you enjoy the new addition.

I have been a member of all the Fender forums for a long time :)

The Tele is great, the glossy neck is a bit of a 'sticking point' if you pardon the pun!

It needs a setup and a fiddle with the pickup heights before I can decide if it's a keeper.

Hi,

Following on this thread, AS90 was terrific, he sent good pics, detailed answers throughout - and I saw this guitar here and on Ebay, a guitar I've always hanckered after, and now thanks to AS90, I'm the proud owner.

It goes well with my B C Rich Dagger, arch top with stop bar, ebony finger board, all in black - it's a guitar you love or loath - I love it, and not a goth, emo just wanted something a bit different, and ticks all those boxes.

I have a 1983 wine red Matsomuka Japanese Riviera with stop bar, and like Noel Gallagher loved it, it's very heavy and clumbersome - the neck on it feels like a baseball bat, everything has top be maxed to get the Oasis tones, but NG and Bonehead played them, and as I was 16 when Definitely Maybe came out - have wanted one, and went into guitars shops asking for a Riviera with stop bar - your mad, no one makes these, purchased a Supernova in 1998- disapointed with it, and within 6 months of my 30th birthday found this forum, and people like CB, Frenchie were really helpful, and advised me what to look for - eventually found one and bought it for my 30th - HNGD!!!!.

I also like Beatles, rock n roll - so bought a inspired by John Lennon Casino in 1965 specs - nice but the new addition is awesome - glad I held out. I had been after a 1990's Riviera with mini humbuckers, made in Korea - and missed out on 2, also nearly bought a 2008/9 Custom Shop Chineese one, from thomann for £350, but when this guitar of AS90's came up, I knew i'd try and buy it/do a deal and sdid a deal with a 1952 USA re-issue telecaster, haven't rely had the chance to play it, just lined up the arch tops, and compared them all.

The Elitist is fantastic - couldn't imagine a brand beginning with G--s-n to be better, but must be!!!!

I've been to the Gibson guitar factory in Memphis in 2006, and got some gr8 pics, the custom shop is amazing, especially as they were making a es-335 type guitar all black, spider web om rear and spiderman in the middle, all inlaid - gibson don't send inferior guitars out, and they had made 3/4 and the factory/customer weren't happy, it looked fantastic - tonally not so good, and everytime Gibson put an axe through the bodies, and then skip them - i guess we'd love that job!!!!

Thanks as90 once more, will post pics in due course.
