With what is being spent on that over hyped and outrageously expensive wedding , a real difference could me made in the lives of thousands of poor, hungry, and homeless people. . . If I am not mistaken the united kingdom is run by a parliament so what in the eff does this even matter for? Almost every second commercial on TV here in Canada is some BS ad saying "Hey, watch the Royal wedding" then proceeds to tell you its on at like 2am in the morning. Yeah sure I am gunna wake up that early to see some pretentious ****** marry some ditch pig, also I thought that royalty could only get married to other royalty and not the daughter of two flight attendants. I guess being a social worker has had an effect on me. It bothers me to see people living in extreme excess while others suffer and die. That's sounds harsh but it's a fact. I am not a socialist/communist or anything like that, but do we as a society need to throw the wealthy lives of these people (who have never known any hardship) in the faces of the common working folks? My dad is very anti Royalist and grumpy about the Royals, so as we are not watching it (and to give me mum a break from his 'grumpitis') am going to make a pasta meal and take his mind off it LOL. When I think about it I don't think anyone I have met who is British who cares about it that much. That being said, the sheer amount of excess involved is baffling to me, I would be horrified having any event regarding myself being of this monetary magnitude. I like it simple. Wish them luck but I really wish they'd stop f-cking talking about it on the news, I want to hear about things that are actually pertinent to the world stage (i.e. Libya, continuing Japan coverage, yadda yadda) not one massive wedding. . But, blimey, will I be glad when it's over and the bloody media settles back down to the "real" world - you know the kind of thing: Obama's real birth place, Donald Trump's hair, etc, etc!!!!
