  1. I’ll send you any good plans or info I find. Ya know a 336 in this sparking rose finish with the custom style purfling and everything would be quite nice i remember the blue build! I think I might do a thinline Tele style body to dip my toes in. Maybe a hog back with spruce top and Martin style purfling or something kinda unique
  2. Rabs I’ve been looking at 336 style build threads and I gotta say it’s something that we should give a shot one day. http://sveopravljenjuelektricnegitare.weebly.com/uploads/9/2/8/0/9280515/gibson_cs_356.pdf
  3. Chrome doesn’t really age the way nickel does. On my most played guitar with chrome hardware, my hand went through the chrome revealing kindof a coppery brassy color on the saddles. There are no parts that have the tarnishing like you see on nickel hardware If you look at old guitars from the 70s with chrome hardware it still looks shiny but sometimes the metal underneath oxidizes and starts to flake the chrome off
  4. I’m definitely not a fan. I like a lot of the vintage reissue stuff because I like the original guitars but relics are way too much
  5. Maybe QC is quick connect. They were messing around with those molex connectors for a while
  6. Are you sure the template is made for 24 3/4”? Gibson scale length is generally referred to as 24 3/4” but it varies slightly in different time periods.
  7. No way any of their recorded music is as bad as the covers they play live. That’d be my main reason for not wanting to see them live
  8. Wow this one really hits hard for me. Sorry rct.
  9. Holy shite had to watch that again after posting it. What a banger
  10. One thing about DSP that people struggle with in a DAW situation is gain staging. Let’s say your initial signal is hitting the AD converter too hard and causing it to clip. It’s not going to sound pleasant like amp distortion and it’s only made uglier by additional distortion from the plugin/DSP. Too much gain at the front end In the tape days it was cool to push the meters into the red. In the digital world you need to understand the headroom of your system and stay below that threshold. as far as cables go there are a lot of gimmicks but your really aren’t going to get better than a good Mogami.
  11. They are just screwed down tightly so that they flex to conform to the curvature of the top. If there is a little gap somewhere it’s not a big deal
  12. Back in my day blah blah blah I don’t know how bail works blah blah blah get off my lawn
  13. By that logic I’d say DSP would be the top choice. The tone master isn’t exactly cheap for what you’re getting. The Twin Reverb model is over $1K I’ll stick with my $600 used 65ri thanks!! Haven’t needed to put a penny into maintenance and I can’t imagine the construction or components are any better on a newer cheaper product
  14. I agree 100% That ding in the top would definitely affect the value though in this case while it’s still a newish guitar. In the future when this is a vintage oddball the ding will be less remarkable and we’ll just think how rare and cool this model is
  15. Wow cool find Rabs never seen one like that before
  16. Plastic jacks aren’t inherently bad. In an amp they are likely chosen to avoid ground loops rather than as a cost cutting measure. The pots were probably selected for PCB mounted usage which I’m not really a fan of but that’s what you’re gonna get in a modern amp you will never see Fender make a truly accurate reissue of one of their old classic amps for legal reasons. Those designs don’t meet modern UL regulations etc
  17. Man this thread is full of GAS inducing pics. Nice guitars guys!!!
  18. Ahh it’s cause that’s hog and we’re used to seeing maple inside when it’s ply
  19. There’s pretty much no way in hell this is a 17 year old fake. If it is it’s probably worth more than an original because it would have to be built by an extremely talented high end luthier. But that would be silly, it’s pretty safe to assume it’s real. I’d shell out $3K for that
