Levism Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I mentioned in another post that I had been on the hunt for a silverburst ES or LP. I just so happened that last Thursday my brother was in Ontario and came across a mint one in the long and mcquade. He sent some photos and played it giving me enough details ( we have similar styles) that I pulled the trigger and had it sent here. And today it came. And my brothers Green 335
Riffster Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Wow! congrats never seen a SilverBurst on an ES before. Your brothers is really cool too.
'Scales Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Nice one - you'll need to update your signature. your bro has the Chris Cornell signature model by the looks.
SteveFord Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 That is really quite striking, congratulations on getting that one.
Levism Posted April 9, 2014 Author Posted April 9, 2014 Nice one - you'll need to update your signature. your bro has the Chris Cornell signature model by the looks. Aye, he lucked out last year while randomly going into the guitar store and it came home with him. #74/250. It really is a beauty.
Jon S. Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Congrats! You don't see Silverburst ES models too often
rct Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Last time I tried a 335 was literally a decade ago. Theys just too big on me, looks like I'm playing a trash can lid. But MAN I would take that Silverburst home that is causing some serious snugness across the front of my SansaBelts. rct
Versatile Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Very nice indeed... Looks striking and original... I have a Silverburst L6-S which has a similar appeal... V
Levism Posted April 9, 2014 Author Posted April 9, 2014 Very nice indeed... Looks striking and original... I have a Silverburst L6-S which has a similar appeal... V Oh wow! Any pics of it?
capmaster Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Nice catch, and love the Silverburst back, too. Congrats, HNGD!
Pin Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Sorry but I think it's awful. But I'm glad you like it!
rocketman Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Well people have different tastes. I like pelham blue but I know a bunch of people who think they are ugly looking. Anyhow, I love yours though! Sweet and congrats.
Versatile Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Oh wow! Any pics of it? Can only manage a generic pic... V
Pin Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Wow, is that sarcasm or serious? It is serious FZ - I really do think that colour scheme awful but that's me - I know others (as clearly stated) love it. If all guitars looked the same the world would be a much poorer place - but as Searcy might say - give me a "tasteful (sun)burst" any day! But just to make it clear - nothing wrong with 335's!
Versatile Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Regarding wood finishes in general... I belong to the 'traditional' school where 'wood as wood' is the watchword... Preferring visible woodgrain, whether natural or tinted... Exceptions in my modest collection... Arctic White Strat Candy Apple Red Jazzmaster Gibson L6-S Silverburst V
Levism Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 Demo/tone vids please! Very nice!!! I'll throw some stuff together this weekend Thanks for all the love everyone. I'd played 335's before but this ones at the top of my list. Such a dream to play.
Eades Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I own a silverburst 335 think they only made about 25 of them, I only bought it because it has no pick guard ,hate pick guards on a 335 and didn't want screw holes showing, there's even a rarer block inlay version
