MikeRom
Oh, now I see what you are talking about ...WOOF!. That's one of the ugliest guitar I've ever seen. Easily in the top 10 of ugly guitars.
guitarbob123
the holy explorer looks awesome but i can see a holy sg, holy les paul, and a holy firebird on the horizon they're already doing les paul with holes in, they're called les paul standards
James Allen
I personally do not like the Xplorer with all the holes in it. I hope to never see an LP that way. The holes take away from the aesthetics of the guitar. Part of the allure (now that I've matured and don't think pointy guitars are awesome) of a nice guitar is the color, the grain, the fading. With a guitar with a bunch of holes in it, you get none of that. So, what's the point. It seems like a gimmick. Gibson doesn't need a gimmick. I heard something once about excellence. I'll paraphrase: good must advertise to let people know, but excellence doesn't. So, this gimmicky guitar seems like Gibson is trying to advertise that it is a "cool" guitar company. It doesn't need gimmicks to prove it's cool. Just keep selling excellent instruments that are beautiful and full of tone.
brundaddy
Not only does it look stupid, don't all the holes disrupt the perfect balance the Explorer is so well-known for?
Thundergod
I have a les paul with holes in it... gibson's been making them since 2006... (those holes are covered by the maple cap tho... but you might just wanna buy one and take the cap away...)
BIGBENDS
They should have used saved the Holy V & Holy Explorer for the Epiphone line. Those kind of gimmicks don't fly with us veterans. One Volume knob? Where's the versatility in sound?

rsx
Gibson should find better things to build than a series of holy crap. http://forums.gibson.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=172073𪀩

hbomb76
Don't the ladies already have their holey Les Pauls (i.e. "chambered"/routed-out Standards and such)? That's bad enough. Let's not desecrate any other body styles with the termite-damage look, m'kay? H-Bomb
Basshole
how dare you! Just a really bad joke, I think this holy guitar thing is just to make money like everyone else was saying.
AXE®
Holey guitars are a good way to rid the pile of surplus heavy @ssed mahogany. Used in the Standards also....
G u e s t
Oh - it could get SOOOO much worse, pray Gibson don't see this:- Title: Color changeable guitar body Document Type and Number: United States Patent 4815355 Abstract: A clear plastic hollow guitar body 20 with sides 25 which are vacuum formed together and having an attached back 24 and a colored liquid 32 which has the ability to be changed to a different color by draining from drain hole 33 and refilling through fill hole 34.
