badbluesplayer
One of those... Anyway, I put my old curved pickup rings on my new Les Paul, and, here we go, ironic -
Sgt. Pepper
There is only one word for curved pickup rings, they are _________________________ (fill in the blank). Not sure where the irony would be on a set of pup rings? Edited August 4, 2022 by Sgt. Pepper
jdgm
Cool. They fit.

It's because I don't know the differatation between iconic and ironic. I think they call it a malapropisn't or something. 😁 They do look nice tho, huh? mihcmac
Maybe ironic that they fit so perfectly, seem to match the binding and pickguard. Very nice..
SteveFord
Best be careful, Gibson may have a PAF on the "I" word. Looks good!

MissouriPicker
Serious question! What are pickup rings and are they only on electrics?
merciful-evans
Pickup rings are cheap and plastic, and were a playful way to show interest in a girl you liked. Friendship rings followed and then engagement etc. 1
merciful-evans
That fit is too good BBP. Are you sure that's a real Gibson?

badbluesplayer
The new Les Paul is awesome. I think I've finally found the right one. It's just super nice. Everything about it... Gibson, though, needs to find something for the one-eyed guys to do other than installing the trussrod covers. 😆 I've said this before, I think a bunch of pirates got caught in the Gulf of Mexico and they all had no left eye, and the next thing you know they kept turning right until they ended up in Nashville at the Gibson plant. They still have to line up the trussrod cover by eye and - I guess - hold it while they mark the screw holes. Maybe it was quitting time and the guy had to keep one eye on the clock.
