saturn
I know some members are too young to have owned 45RPM records. Otherwise known as singles. If I remember correctly, the first 45 I remember owning was this cheeseball hit It was either that or the theme to the TV show SWAT

saturn
Yea, I did have a bunch of kids records, like Disney's Lady And The Tramp, Puss 'N Boots, stuff like that. But I think my first real music one was Cliff Richards.

ChanMan
I didn't have a "First" 45. My folks got me a collection of 45's with lots of different songs on them... "Smokey the Bear", "Git Along Little Doggies" and songs like that. The first non-children's 45 I owned was Grand Funk Railroad's "People Let's Stop the War"/ "Save the Land". I also had Emerson, Lake and Palmer's "Lucky Man"/"Kinfe's Edge" as well, and though I don't specifically recall, I'll wager those were hand me downs from my cousin. But, for those waxing nostalgic, here is a little something I ran across as I looked for info this morning: http://www.feelingretro.com/

Daryl M
My first 45? "Kung Fu Fighting"- Carl Douglas. 1974, I think. On a similar note to my old school friends here, we had a fiddle player in our band a couple of years back. Nice guy, college grad, good player...who had never seen a phonograph record play. He said, "What if you only want to hear the third song...what do you do then?" Someone hand me my cane...
