EVOL!
I think Daltry was doing his stuff before Plant ever "made it", and I think you really should listen to Live at Leeds, it's rock music at it's rawest. Ian. Daltry didn't really come into his own until Tommy. Regardless, I'd take him over Plant any day.

But I never thought of Plant's voice as harsh. Well, maybe I did until I started listening to Rush. Daltry was transformed when they did Tommy. DiamondJig
I hear Pete, the first thing I think of is The Who as a band all 4 members play'n as one, feeding off each other and jamm'n on My Generation/Tommy as on Live at Leeds, forever eched in my mind. Windmills Optional
Many of them have been taken so I'll say Quadrophenia. Brilliant achievement, I think, if too challenging to be presented on stage successfully at the time of its release. I could have said inspiration, too, to many, many guitarists. And I also have a P-90 equipped SG because of Pete. My copy of The Who: Live in Texas 75 dvd arrived yesterday and I watched it last night. It was filmed in Houston about two weeks before I saw them the first time in Chicago and it was really cool to watch. Those guys could really bring it live. Versatile
Regarding Daltrey vs Plant... IMO both remarkable vocalists...the best in their fields For some reason, similar haircuts Perhaps Daltrey edges it because of the greater originality of Pete's songwriting But Plant's range is phenomenal And the passion/commitment is 100% from both... Pin
Internet child porn I think the same thing. Townsend was caught in "operation ore" (a sting collecting the names of people who had downloaded child porn). To my mind, Townsend's explanations have been utterly pathetic and unbelievable. No matter how good a musician he is (and I grant he is good, I simply can't stand the man.

He paid to join an illegal site and didn't think he'd get caught? He said it was research. Ridiculous. If it was a normal person they'd have gone straight to jail. Corruption again. J.R.M.30!
I don't think you can limit Pete to just one word, discounting the porn fiasco and the people that died at a Who concert in Cininnati. :)

bonzoboy
The first word that comes to my mind when I think of Pete Townshend is "intensive" he was always intensive about his guitar playing, his theatrics and stage presence, his lyrics and even his thinking.Townshend is one of the most intense performers ever to to strap on a guitar. There's nothing wrong with being brilliant and "wacko." That's how a lot of those guys are. As long as it's "good whacko" and not "bad whacko." The other thing is, how come you're supposed to put the period before the quotation mark, but just in America. I just checked that and it's been bothering me real bad.
