I liked Humble Pie up until Peter Frampton left. Peter's solo stuff needed the grunge that Steve Marriott brought to the table. Once Peter Frampton left Humble Pie just wasn't the same. Steve Marriott played all different models, I'd always associated him with a Les Paul Jr (double cutaway, non SG shape) but just last week I saw an old clip where he had an Epiphone Wiltshire, I think it was.

I'm curious about the Peter Frampton Fenix Profile Neck but not THAT curious.

I think I saw them at Derby Day.

I have a Firebird V and a VII sitting out here and neither one has any paint on the side of the nut.

It's not the P90s, it's the matching shoes that do it for me.

For the P90 sound, think Live At Leeds or Aqualung (guitar tip came courtesy of Leslie West). I really like P90s, especially in a Les Paul Standard.

Randy Newman can write some really funny stuff but some of it is just so mean-spirited. Then I realized that he's writing it all from the perspective of fictional charecters he invents, what his actual thoughts are on any subject nobody knows. I watched a documentary on him and his world-wide fan base is 80,000 people and he says that he's probably the best looking one out of the bunch! He really backpedalled when he was asked "So are you saying that your fans are ugly?"
