Aster1 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Iowa is done now with Phase 1. Well, I made it thru another Election Caucus. The phone call ad were overwhelming this time. Also, all the media crawling around too. Lordy, I wish the USA just had the entire country vote the same day in a primary election. Then candidates have 3 months to campaign for the general election. Little radio/TV ads & more debates. Cut the cash out of this horse for the media and allow us to hear what people will do, not this said about that in ads. Won't happen, but I can dream. Hope the field gets cut to 2 in each party, already happened in the Dems side. Aster
JayinLA Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Just one of those things. A smart guy told me that no matter who wins the election, the government still gets in.
RevDavidLee Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I caucused and am a county convention delegate for the 2nd time since 2008. I'm also on the Platform committee for my party so I'll be giving my input on what that should look like as well. I figure gives me a license to complain incessantly since I bothered to get involved. It's New Hampshire's problem now. Thank goodness :-"
capmaster Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Funny - I thought this topic was about the band Talking Heads.
darling67 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Funny - I thought this topic was about the band Talking Heads. Same here, when I first saw it.
capmaster Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Same here, when I first saw it. Cool! So I'm not the only one at least. :)
IanHenry Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Cool! So I'm not the only one at least. :) No Cap, I also thought that the thread was about the band. Bit disappointed to find politics instead! Ian
rct Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Citizens United has moved it beyond embarrassing to full on depressing. rct
kidblast Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I am disgusted by the whole circus.. I'm not even sure I'll vote.. who do I vote for? they're all clowns.
quapman Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 We just had our longest election in history up here which lasted 78 days. That was painful enough for me. But ya, you gotta vote. It gives you the right to b!tch.
Aster1 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 I agree with that on the right to ***** is null & void if you don't bother to vote. Actually, I'm good with many running, just TOO many. Aster
rct Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I agree with that on the right to ***** is null & void if you don't bother to vote. Voting is the same as not voting. rct
capmaster Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Voting is the same as not voting. rct Not always. Four weeks after my son had come of age, the municipal elections took place here in 2014. It was the first time he had the right to vote, and I convinced him it was important. The Mayor of our municipality was reelected with a result of 1376:1374 votes. My son and me had voted for her. Given we hadn't voted at all, it would have been quits, and the Mayor would have been drawn by lot! I'm not kidding, this is electoral law.

Searcy Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I am disgusted by the whole circus.. I'm not even sure I'll vote.. who do I vote for? they're all clowns. I'm voting for Rand Paul in the primary and Gary Johnson in the general. I'm not sure how anyone who plans on voting could not know who they are voting for at this point.

Searcy Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Yea, I just saw that. I didn't figure he would make it this far. So it's just Gary now.
Aster1 Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 I'm presuming everyone knows, outside of some thinking it was a music group[biggrin], that the "talk'n heads" I was referring to is the Dush-Bag (sp.) media types right? They are the ones that I really have no respect for with trying to create news and steering people to think the way the media wants them to, instead of just reporting NEWS. Aster
flyingarmadillo Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Yea, I just saw that. I didn't figure he would make it this far. So it's just Gary now. I lived in New Mexico when Gary Johnson was the Governor there. He was a very good governor; it's too bad he isn't from a state with more name recognition.
Retired Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 1454519471[/url]' post='1737047']the lesser of two evils.... I'm one who hates politics, I don't care for any of them but I'll vote to cancel out my wife's vote!
kidblast Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 steering people to think the way the media wants them to, instead of just reporting NEWS. Aster yea sad but true. The media hasn't been an unbiased source of information for a long time now
Mr. C.O. Jones Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Coolest thing I've seen in a looooong time! Sadly we don't have Cthulhu here in Spain!
