capmaster
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/zz-top-bassist-dusty-hill-dead-obit-1203694/ Sadly last night ZZ Top bassist and vocalist Dusty Hill left the earthly stages. I like his and his companions' Texas Blues for more than five decades now. In his memory I link a song featuring Dusty on bass guitar and lead vocals. R.I.P. jdgm
R.I.P. Alas - a superb musician and composer/writer. He made a lot of people very happy. Hi Cap, hope you are ok - we've missed you, too.

sparquelito
Aw man. That's terrible. He was such a sport, that guy. And a crazy-good bass player. Never used a pick. Saw him with ZZ Top live in Honolulu in 1997. Such a good show. 😔

tx-ogre
Sad news. I saw ZZ Top in 1976 (my first concert), 1983 and 2012. All great shows. RIP Dusty.
Mr. Natural
tx-ogre, I've seen them three times as well. What a great band. Billy said Dusty didn't play bass; he played low guitar. RIP.

Whitefang
72 is way too young. What was the cause? Rest In Peace, Dusty. Whitefang
LPguitarman
RIP Dusty. They say he died in his sleep. Hopefully he didn't suffer.
brad1
I saw ZZTOP about 3 years ago. Great show! So glad I saw them. The death of Dusty, unfortunately, means the end of one of the greatest rock bands there ever was. He's going to a different Pearly Gates now.
