Don't know if these 4 qualify as "solos":

Ace Frehley, Fractured Mirror- Kiss Solo LP

Ace again, Fractured Quantum- Ace Frehley

Carlos Santana, Europa,

Carlos again, Samba Pa Ti

These 2 guys are my favorite "modern",guitarists, so bite me!

But these are what I consider "solos"

"Hooligan", Ace? no telling in that time period

"Into the Night" Carlos and the guy from Nickleback

These are my favorites, but not necessarily the best, guess thats subjective to your ears.

My favorite guitar solo?

The next one I am going to play on stage!!!

It may not be as good as one by Jeff Beck, but it will feel sooooooo good to play.

As far as recorded solos go. There are too many favorites to narrow it down to anything less than 100.

Love the guitar solo on Toto's Rosanna, but one of my all time favorites (for those who are old enough to remember) the solo on Maria Muldair's Midnight at the Oasis.

Rosanna's my favorite solo as well. Steve L has done some of the best solo's I've ever heard.

He's a tasty player.

Goodbye To Love - The Carpenters - Tony Peluso (RIP 2010)

You beat me to it.

Too difficult to answer briefly.

I'll limit myself to listing some which have yet to be mentioned and in no order whatsoever (apart from the first one. It still gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it);

"Worried Dream" - Peter Green / Fleetwood Mac.

"Tunnel of love" - Mark Knopfler / Dire Straits.

"Drown in my own tears" - Jeff Beck with Jools Holland's Big Band.

"Stepping out" - E.C. / John Mayall's Bluesbreakers

"Charleston" - Django Rheinhardt / Quintet du Hot Club de France

"Get the funk out" - Nuno Bettencourt / Extreme.

"Quatrain" (live version) - Matrin Barre / Jethro Tull.

"Mood For A Day" - Steve Howe.

"Tush" - Billy Gibbons / ZZ Top.

"Don't stop me now" - Brian May / Queen.

Everything Andres Segovia did. Ever.

I'll stop there and apologize to all those I've omitted...

EDIT : Just one more before I go. I watched this live as a 14 year-old and it bewitched me. I've posted it before and, I dare say, I'll post it in the future too.

(I don't know who 'Eric Clepton' is but he's pretty good.)

Enjoy.
