RichCI
With guitar gear, yes but that doesn't necessarily means that gear has to be expensive to be good. I don't see much point in paying money for something I don't like no matter what the price is.

Riffster
I like and appreciate good quality gear but considering that I played my Squier '51 last night I'd say I am not one.
SG FAN
A lot of the "my $400 Epiphone is just as good as your $2000 Gibson" people will call you a cork sniffer, or headstock snob just because you prefer Gibson. It gets on my last nerve sometimes[angry]

Californiaman
Sure, I buy quality gear. I'm a tone connoisseur. Check my signature out.
ShredAstaire
I appreciate quality but i always take into account how it will be used (guitar or otherwise)...i don't need a $5000 guitar as I am a bedroom player...that's how I look at it. Seems I am one of few that think this way...and i'm ok with that. I just hate defending my $800 guitar against the corksniffers...it definitely doesn't sound like a tricked out Gibson but it sounds pretty good nonetheless! I couldn't justify buying a $5,000 guitar for any reason. In my world it's not necessary. Sure I have quality equipment and guitars, but I didn't pay through the nose for them either. dleth
I really like nice, quality things, guitars included but I'm more of a beer guy. Dave

ChanMan
I'm sorry... I meant I actually sniff the corks on wines when they are opened to capture the bouquet. I've said it before: gear is whatever it takes to get the sound.
FirstMeasure
Nope, not a Cork Sniffer. My whole frontline cost less than most players rec room axe. 95 Gibson Nighthawk = $460 from EBAY 88 Stratocaster = Present for 17th Birthday (cost less than $350 brand new, loss leader promo for GC in '89) 04 MIM Deluxe Players Strat = $485 + $35 in DIY upgrades Squier Trans Strat (for Eb tunes) = $280 (Duncan Designed PUS sound good to me)

Twiz
I don't think I am. -I don't really have any super expensive guitars. However, I am really partial to Gibson Electrics, so when it comes to guitars, I guess yes? Crap.
