Just being curious, I wonder what you folks do the earn your keep in this world.......

Me? I work in the mobile auxillary power industry. Sounds pretty fluffy, huh. Ever wonder what makes a dump truck, or aerial lift, or winch truck work? It's auxillary equipment mounted on the truck that does it. Pumps, transmission-mounted power takeoffs, gearboxes and other such stuff that pulls power from the truck's engine/transmission powerplant and delivers it elsewhere to perform work. Outside of a 12-year stint in retail music, I've been at it since 1976. Started out on the workbench, swinging a lead-headed hammer and busting knuckles on a regular basis. Now I work at the sales counter, handling phones and walk-in customers, solving the world's problems one truck at a time. (And taking the time to check in on the forum!)

How about you?

i work as a customer service rep on the floor of a large casino. many great performers have played here and i often see them walking around the floor before shows, usually to and from the gym. i wish i was them as i see the pass me in the aisle on the way to soundcheck or the room while i'm surrounded by those i'm glad i'm not - street people, problem gamblers, seniors wasting away. most exhibiting various degrees of ignorance, carelessness and self-neglect with no one to blame but they never stop trying. i get paid for 8 hrs of this ironic carmic b*itchslap with a healthy side order of daydreaming and lyric writing.

After more than 20 years owning my own Real Estate Appraisal firm, I dropped the carefree life of a business owner and joined forces with one of the "Big Banks" and now am a National Review Appraiser. I get to review appraisals from all over the country and try to decide if they are legitimate or not....... some days I really need my guitars for stress relief! [lol]

Thirty-five year veteran social worker here. I work in a long term care centre. I do love my clients and will do whatever I can for them but I am very tired, and getting up for work every day to go in and deal with chronic dysfunction and chaos is taking its toll on me. Luckily I'll be winning the 50 million dollar lottery this Friday and will be retiring. [thumbup]

I will win the lottery.

I will win the lottery.

I will win the lottery.

I will win the lottery.

I will win the lottery.

I will win the lottery.

I will win the lottery.

I will win the lottery.

I will win the lottery.

I will win the lottery.

I am a physician.

Specialist in internal medicine.

Worked as a GP and in an emergency ward long ago.

Then was a physician in a military hospital and a cheef of the medical service of a unit in the Bulgarian Army with a rank of captain.

Left the army in 2003.

Since 2006 I am a medical representative for a french homeopathy drugs company - Boiron.

Till now.

The last job gave me the money to buy M-R GIBS, THE GALE and other musical gear and the freedom of the soul to be able to play&sing&compose songs.

My boss is my fan.

Retired lo these past 7 years or so from being a school counselor. Now I just do whatever my (still working) wife expects. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, housework, home maintenance .... wish I was back in middle school! Ce
