JuanCarlosVejar
Folks, Slash Signature J 45’s have been announced Taken from Guitar World: The J-45s feature a custom Slash-approved C-neck profile and a "fatter and more modern" 16" fretboard radius (the 2019 Standards have a 12" fretboard radius). There's no wood spec revealed by Gibson just yet but it looks very much like the regular run of J-45s with a solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany on the back and sides. As with the Les Pauls, the J-45s have signature or blank truss rod covers, Slash "Scully" sketch on the back of the headstock – and, yes, they come with the picks, too. 45s available in November Burst and Vermillion Burst. I don’t think this this is going to be a grandfather vintage spec 45.I think this is going to be a “play all over the fretboard” instead of just a “cowboy strummer” I’ll be at NAMM .Will report back with thoughts on the model. slimt
Well. Slash might have to play each one on stage and a picture to verify That its worthy of owning one. Other than that its just another sig on a guitar that has no meaning.

zombywoof
Does Slash know how to play in anything other than the minor pentatonic? And Leon Russell looked better in the top hat. Hey, I used to wear a top hat in the 1960s, one of those that you hit the brim ad the rest popped out. Raul Rehlmann
Jaja. The most J45 sound I ever hear from Guns and Roses is from the acoustics on Patience. But no Gibsons to find here. It was only a tuned down sound of many Guild guitars

BluesKing777
I am interested in what this means: “custom Slash-approved C-neck profile and a "fatter and more modern" 16" fretboard radius (the 2019 Standards have a 12" fretboard radius” BluesKing777. For some reason - their "Generation" series (the g-45) and their "Studio" models have the 16" A 'Sea Change" at Bozeman? I'd be more inclined to get a nut wider by 1/16" than a difft radius. 62burst
Thanks to Mr. Horse. As mentioned above, I still don't know, and fretboard radius is not something I've ever paid much attention to. But someone ought to tell Thalia.

That is fine, but if your capo is not the same radius as your fretboard it will not put even pressure on your strings and one or two may choke out. But I think Thalia's come with replacement pads for different radius's or is it radii? Edited January 12, 2020 by Sgt. Pepper

Not a big capo person, here. . . In general, capo≠jam friendly. and we can't always trust specs on big G website. Anyone got a contour gauge?😙 Edited January 12, 2020 by 62burst
Leonard McCoy
All the more progressive J-45 (Studio, Modern and Generation series) have a fretboard with a 16" radius. Edited January 12, 2020 by Leonard McCoy

Lots here do and can probably rattle off more J-45 specs than you can shake a stick at. Why don't you take the lead on informing Thalia. My Shubb and Kyser are the radius for my guitars. Thalia's are a like $60 and I got all the capo's I need. Not to mention Thalia can do the same thing I did go on line an look. Plus they are selling the product and should know. You would think they may have different guitars in the plant to do R & D. Edited January 12, 2020 by Sgt. Pepper
